Jeremy Cameron reported for high contact

Featured Replies

Personally I don't think Pedo has a case to answer.  A legitimate hip and shoulder where the initial contact was with the Saints player's shoulder.  The fact that the player was off balance that resulted him being spun around makes it look worse than it was.  Cameron on the other hand left the ground and made contact with the head of an opposition player fracturing his cheekbone.  Not dirty, but not legal either.  Three weeks down to two.

Centrebet has suspended betting on the round 1 match.

Bookmakers are gutless wonders.

My guess Melbourne will be $1.85 fav after the decision

Does this mean McDonald plays on Patton now?

From the GWS website.

Leon Cameron said the team that defeated the Lions would make up the bulk of the outfit to take on Melbourne in two weeks, but hadn't ruled out a recall of former number one pick Jonathon Patton, who played in the NEAFL on Saturday.

"He just wants to play every weekend and he probably needs six weekends in a row just to play, just to get that confidence back," Cameron said.

"Whether that's at NEAFL or AFL level, his form will determine that. The main thing is his confidence, he's coming back from some serious issues.

So if he plays The Easter bunny may get the job.

Oh yes. I shall never forget that old guy in the crowd. What a legend.

We must be relentless in honour of Big Jimma

The giants forward line all of the sudden doesn't look amazing

HF: Johnson - Stewart - Palmer

FF : Smith - Tomlinson - Hoskin-Elliott

Stewart vs Dunn, Tomlinson vs T.Mac, Hoskin-elliott vs Garland

Smith vs Jetta, Johnson vs Lumumba, Palmer vs Salem

I would love to have Hopoate play one game for us so he could tag $cully.

GWS will sruggle to kick a winning score without Cameron, McCarthy and patton.

As as good as their mids are they are likely to be run off their feet towards the end.

As for scully, we should have the banner named in his honour. His exit landed us hogan. Thank you very much

And of course Sam Mitchell, who smashes someone square in the face, gets off scot free. One of the dirtiest players in the league, behind Hodge and not many others.

Cameron not playing is good for us, but it's their mids we have to worry about, if we don't pressure their kids and Gawn do well in Mummy then their forwards whoever they are will get very good service.

We now have a team of hard nuts, so this is the first game vs GWS I realistically feel that Scully is going to get smashed by our boys.

VIney ironing him out would be tremendous, would also love Tommy Bugg to smash him.

I don't care who does it. I just want to see a walk of shame toward the Members Stand.

I hate people who lie intentionally on camera by telling "the truth"

treason...

This.

Stop Dylan Shiel and their outside run and we can seriously win through our hardness and ability now to run games out.

Every big out helps. Cameron when he is on is one of the premier forwards of the competition and if he gets a week then good for us.

Devon Smith always kills us as well. We have to quell Shiel, Mumford and Smith for mine.

mathieson has a fractured cheekbone, he should cop more than just one.

Agree, I also think if they are serious about eliminating the sling/bodyslam they should have given Cockatoo at least 3.

Big job for Jetta. And if its one bloke on our team that can stop him its Nevy..

Wonder if Vince will go to Shiel?

Id love to see Viney go one on one with him. Bit like what he did with Selwood and Ablett. If not Viney then send Bugg to absolutely pester the [censored] out of him.

Nathan Wilson is the one we need to stop of half back too. His dash and lighting speed out of the backline is crucial for them and him and shaw are the go two blokes to give them that drive out of the backline. Kent or Kennedy would be my options.

I'm confident if we bring the press we've been implementing successfully throughout the NAB challenge, we'll be able to take care of Wilson and Shaw. Although, you're right. Their defensive rebound is vital to their game. I don't think we give them a chance though if Gawn can dominate Mumford, but it's a big ask.

Cameron sent to the Tribunal

Just in - Cameron referred directly to the tribunal for rough conduct.

Looked at the tape. He left the ground to make the hit, it was head high and near maximum damage, broken jaw. They are quoting careless already well he made a decision, more like deliberate. He should be looking at 3 or 4 but I am sure they will find a way to make it one or two. Either way if he is playing against us the whole system is stuffed.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
