doubt many decent people will bother to turn up, but you never know

But we have a winning streak at Etihad.

One of the best things to come out of today's Foxtel coverage is that I won't have to listen to Brereton, as he's doing the GWS / Lions game.

Dazzle said he's going, and Saty also. There's 2 so far.

I hope they take the time to catch up and discuss the players over a few froffs.

Roof will be open. Cloudy day, I guess the sun won't be a factor.

I'm going to try and sit on level 2, just need to try and avoid the Etihad fun police.

You can have him. I have to mute the television when he's on, which bugs me because I like the crowd noise. Can't stand his long tirades about a simple point he could've made in 7 words or less.

Also, we're up to five on the Dees fans there today. I'm making my first appearance at a game in Melbourne since 1996. Let's do this.

I used to love listening to Dermie, but now find him unlistenable.  While I appreciate some of his keen insight, the waffling, maniacal laughter, and self-absorbtion is too much.

When he's commentating on a Hawthorn game it's amplified and officially unbearable.

No, I won't be there Bob.  I don't do Etihad.  Especially in the preseason.

I'll be there - been waiting too long for footy to come back to miss this one.

There was a decent crowd last time we played the Saints in a NAB challenge game but not sure what to expect given the time slot of 4.10 and how that works for everyone today.

Looking forward to seeing the new recruits in the red and blue and seeing Oliver in the flesh.

FB: Jetta   Garland  O McDonald

HB: Salem T Mc  Vince

C: M Jones  Viney  Grimes

HF: Kent  Hogan  Kennedy

FF: Watts  Pedersen  Garlett

Foll: Gawn  Tyson  Jones

Int: Oliver Bugg  Frost Harmes

Maybe nominal sub in case of injury/after half time: Michie, Wagner

I hope we learn from Richmond  and have all 24 available so we aren't overtaxing anyone in case of injury. Plus I'd love to see Wagner get a full run but the coaches might go with Oscar Mc. I'd probably make both available really, just a matter of how close to round 1 conditions of 22 only they want to go.

Todays game is fairly important even thought its only 'NAB CUp'

Final tune up before the real stuff starts and we are playing the Saints,, a team in a very similar position to us in their development.

Lets belt the pricks.

Head high on Rhys Mathieson. Medium impact - knocked him to the ground.

GWS player before first round - reprimand.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
