Some DA members at the airport today were talking to Kalani. He told them heโ€™s looking forward to playing for Casey towards the end of the season. The boyโ€™s a Demon, no doubt about it โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฅณ

If he elects GC we will be very peed off with the Northern Academies.

How likely is it we even draft him, seems to have very little buzz about him

Showed enough in 1 quarter at VFL level that he's a draftable talent, especially with his level of athleticism

The idea that Kalani was ever playing anywhere but Melbourne was fanciful.

Have seen enough for me to say the kid CAN play and will be a fine player!

I hope we leave the kid alone and let him develop, without the weight of expectations put on him by DL.

He is not a saviour, but rather just another promising kid, nothing more. There are no guarantees on becoming an AFL player just because you make an AFL list.

Jed Adams and Seston are examples of that, though they still can make it if they keep improving.

How'd he go today, anyone know?

Except they werenโ€™t even a club in 2007. Actually, theyโ€™re still not a club, theyโ€™re a franchise, and I said as much to a group of blokes at halftime in the designated smoking section last week. They didnโ€™t get angry, in fact they said they pitied me for paying to come all this way to watch my sch!tt team lose. I had no counterpunch. They won ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Yeah I thought of a bunch of comebacksโ€ฆ after the event. At the time all I could think was broโ€™s right, I did come a long way to see a loss. I was gonna say yeah well the gameโ€™s not over yet, is it. But had I said that I just know Iโ€™d run into the same blokes after the match. ๐Ÿ˜…

You can get these non taste mixers for a small remuneration. They have em in Eastern Eu.

Only saw about 25 minutes of the game and only saw him 2-3 times.

Stats were 11 disposals 6 kicks 5 handballs. 6 marks. 2 tackles.

Heโ€™s okay. Others are starring but all MFC need is for him to stay healthy and be happy and pick the Dees. He will take time in spend two years getting his body up to rigors of AFL footy. Hopefully only have to match a bid in the 40s/50s.

Did Kalani play down back? I saw there were no hitout so I presume they played him down in defence.

You might want to revisit this.

If he has what we need, why would we pick him because of his name?

another gc17 academy freebie

no one is saying white is a messiah, but to lose out on a father-son - especially for a father who clearly loves the mfc as much as jeff does - would be really disheartening

if white was pick 30 and he was the 'best player available' and 'suits needs' at that selection... i dunno, mebbe like a super tall, athletic kid, who has been played key back but wants to be a ruck / forward, then... i would guess we probably WOULD pick him

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
