Matt Rosa

This is the kind of mature big bodied grunt i was talking about yesterday and if its for 2 solid years it could be a big win. Is he a bigger risk than an unproven younger small bodied player in Kennedy who has no guarentee he will not be another toumpas that can't handle the heat of stronger players applying pressure ?

I can't see the point in recruiting him.

Point is that we should start recruiting players who can help us win NOW. We've been down too long and have become unattractive. Want to get Prestia next year? Better be pushing for finals. Need players who can affect our performance this year and Rosa is a class player and he's only 28. Got 4 or more years left

I taught Matt Rosa as a young student teacher many years ago. He was a lovely kid.
We need to be careful. We did need to get some 28 plus players at the start of 2014 because the cupboard was bare on that front. We don't want to overcorrect however.

Colin, just wondering if adding one more 28 plus year old is going to mean we have overcorrected, given we have lost two this year?

Yeah, good replacement for Cross, but I wouldn't go offering anything other than a late pick for Rosa.

You taught at St Pats?

Kind of depends who else we get during this trade period. In isolation, it's not a bad pick up. I just have bad memories of our 2012 trading period. (Besides picking up Hogan)

Please point me towards the plethora of other available players with recent grand final experience?

This would be a huge win for us.

Dawes and Lumumba have been huge wins for us, right?

If we are thinking bout next season , and assuming we get these players included Rosa Vince Jones Viney Salem Tyson Bugg Melkshem brayshaw petracca trenners and perhaps Kennedy forms a group of competitive mids flankers with some quality . Better than what we have carried recently .

Rosa would fit in well helping some of the older guys carry the load . He could play for three years who knows .

Yes fom me .

I can only assume he's currently contracted, as he's been there long enough to be eligible as a free agent.

The days of the long, painful rebuild are over. You need to be looking for wins every year. It would be dependent on our net position through the trade window; but if Watts and Howe are out someone like Rosa provides some class and experience back into the line up (along with the loss of Cross as others have mentioned).

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
