Majak Daw

Recommended Posts

From what little I have seen of him, have always liked him and reckon he could be a very good 2nd ruck / forward. Hard to do at North with Petrie and Goldie.

Depending on what the lawyers think of his legal problems, is he worth the risk?

(Out of contract now)

Yes and I posted this 2 weeks ago in the 2nd ruck/fwd thread.

No

Why no DD?

As a seat warmer for 2-3 years he'd give more than Dawes.

Did you see him rd 23 game.

I'm not saying you rate Dawes but when most people speak of him I keep hearing : brings it ground, provides a contest.....

Daw can ruck, mark, disposal is ok(it's improved from what it was) and tackle.

I always thought Daw had some promise. Don't think he gets much chance at Arden st. Not sure he's come on as possibly expected.

How many Daws do we want

Doesn't pass the no DH's policy!

yes he does; his issues were years ago, when much younger. everyone has to mature from their adolescent's. & he has had bigger issues Re cultural hurdles, that put stress on, than most.

That, and hooking up with a team mates (Daniel Pratt) girlfriend.

I don't want to see us waiting out both Melksham's WADA suspension & Daw's jail time.

But you want Colin Sylvia....?

Ok...

Check what I said in that thread.

Never said I wanted him, said I wouldn't be against him. Bit of a difference.

I mean I'm not against Grand Final Eve being a public holiday. Doesn't mean I think it should have happened.

Can take a contested mark. (Dawes struggled to take a chest mark)

Can kick reasonably straight. (Dawes might be a bigger kick)

Can cover the ground. (Dawes is a plodder)

Can ruck effectively enough for a decent chop out. (Dawes can't)

No one is suggesting he's a world beater and I don't see him as a long term option but what's our options....Dawes? How much crap did he cop on here during the year. We will be forced to play him due to lack of other options. What if Gawn goes down? Take out Dunn/Jones/Vince all of our talent is 18-23. We need another fwd, our play for Lynch failed. If we draft someone chances are they won't come on like Hogan has. We need someone to warm the seat.

He would come cheap and we could do a lot worse....

His round 23 game showed he has grown a player.

Is this the same Daw who can't get a game? Yep he'll help us climb the ladder.

He's kicked 6 goals in his career.. He's a good athlete but not a footballer.

He has kicked 6 goals in one AFL game, name the Demons who have done that?

He has 17 goals from his 16 games, yes no world beater, but does he beat Dawes and Pedo?

Did you watch rd 23 v the Tigers.

He can play.

And before someone says thats one game, some are getting excited about the Melksham highlight package vs the Suns.

Pedersen will be the man.

I don't get the reference to Lynch? He doesn't ruck, would have played a different role to what Daw would.

I'd rather us go for Daniel Gorringe for more ruck depth if that's why you want Daw. Can ruck, rest forward, unfulfilled talent and would also come cheap. But I'll back Viney & co in on their decision.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton

The Demons were blown out of the water in the first quarter and clawed their way back into the contest but it was a case of too little too late as they lost another close one to Carlton losing by 1 point at the MCG.
