My question is who do you want in the red and blue next year?

Who do you want that you think is realistic chance of us snapping up?

I have put a few names down.

H Bennel for Howe would it get it done? I think it may well giving Harley's latest indiscretion.

Here is one for you Shaun Atley. offer North a 1st round pick for next year in 2016. Giving there ageing list a first rounder next year when the likes of Boomer, Dal Santo, retire will be very hard to say no to on there side.

Still on North. Dan Currie would be handy pick up as ruck. About to hit 26 years old,peaking age for rucks they say. Would not cost much and he can play second fiddle to Gawn.

Last one Jed Anderson from the Hawks for me running tough mud starved of opportunities.

Adding Bennel Atley and Anderson addresses our speed factor in the midfield.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Why give away next year's first round pick instead of this year's? This year is a weak draft, we should be hoarding picks for next year instead.

Also, while I like Atley, I wouldn't want to give a first round pick for him. It's not like he's an automatic selection for them.

Billy Hartung.

Bennell vs Howe for value is a very interesting debate. Who has more value? Howe isn't all that damaging, but he is marketable and pretty reliable. He can play forward or back, I think for GC he would actually suit being a floating HFF. Bennell on the other hand has a lot more upside, he can be very damaging and silky but clearly his off-field issues are a concern. Interestingly I've actually heard he was a pretty good kid as a teenager but it appears the culture at GC has been bad for him.

I'm glad to hear that we're enquiring about him, he's exactly what we need on field, and I think we're actually getting a culture in place to deal with those that have off field problems.

I would also like to see us get Redden, although sounds like he's looking elsewhere.

I want our first round pick. I'd give it up for Treloar or Dangermouse, but nobody else on offer right now is really floating my boat.

Would love to get Bennell, even with his off field issues I still think his worth ago, I mean jeffy Garlett was a bit off the rails too there for a while but he had a super year this year I reckon!!

I want a partner for hogan, a bigger heavier power marking pack busting type who will take a run in the ruck. someone with a mean streak, who oppos' players don't want to be in front of in a pack.

I see this as urgent, so we need either a gun,,, or a temp fwrd pocket/follower. so a Kreuzer/Patton, Or who-ever's out there who have this nasty streak; plus a Weideman who we can take our time developing, into this type.... but we need to get a pick in for Weideman?

with our 1st pick, I'd like Curnow off the top,,,, or a parish/matthieson type mid.

Sam Petrevski-Seton (Claremont): A composed but exciting midfielder who was listed at 178cm for this year's under-18 championships. The 17-year-old has played three senior WAFL matches this season.

"He's electrifyingly quick and really skillful. He can burst out of stoppages and is really, really clever." – Sanderson.

He was the best thing I saw in the matches I watched, so next year to me looks a better draft already.

Sam Powell-Pepper (East Perth): Standing at 188cm, he fits the modern mould of prototype taller midfielders and thrives around the clearances in contested situations like Patrick Cripps and Nat Fyfe.

"He's more of your modern-day mid, that big-bodied midfielder - like Cripps, Fyfe, (Mundy) and (Michael) Barlow - and with fantastic character." – Sanderson.

Was surprised this kid was a bottom ager, very strong and will be a real force next year.

I could come very close to naming 12-15 players I'd be very happy to have from next years pool.

The quality looks to be much better, and I reckon if people are ticked off at GWS getting Hopper and Kennedy for points, there's going to be a reasonable level of outrage when they get Harry Macreadie through the academy next year.

I'm ok with us trading our first rounder this year, would be very apprehensive about trading next years.

And throw in another smart 192 cm plus forward and I reckon we are up for finals next year. So can Taylor make it happen?
