Great win. No coincidence Vince and Jones return to form and we win.

We NEED salem to become a midfielder for 2016, he has speed, amazing skills and creativity, he personifies the type of player our midfield desperately needs.

unfortunately we need his kicking off half back also.

Good to see the Young kids leading the way today

Thanks Crossy. Hope you stay as a coach next year

Will be fascinated how the list is culled and refilled this summer.

He's the elite distributor we need off half back. Stretch et al need to develop in to our class outside mids.

Sorry, I know Harmes did well today however it's now ingrained in me to cringe at bad disposal and Harmes is a big culprit who often turns it over in our forward line. He is young and has time to work on it.

Good win today go dees

No problem. I think the site was just emulating the club's performances over the past month (today excepted of course )

Probably because no one was actually at the game and all on Demonland.

Positives: White, Harmes, Viney, Salem, Maxy ( how good will he be ? ) Jones.

Negatives: What's my excuse now for drinking too much scotch ? Respect umpires ????? Give us a reason to or shut up !!!!!

Where was that effort in the last month?

Thought we were actually pretty good by foot today, especially by the younger blokes.

Harmes looks to be a future star and showed some tricks I don't people expected. One bloke who seems to fly under the radar a bit is Stretch. Always looks very composed and creates space for himself. Really looking forward to what he's like after a preseason.

One bloke who I thought did well today was Michie. It's a shame he's only hitting his stride now, because I think he's started to develop nicely towards the end of the year. The same thing happened last year and he seemed drop off after the gap. Hopefully not this time, because I like the way he tries to move it on and create inside 50s.

Good win Dees

Was out and checked the score in the 4th quarter ... holy moly! Well done Demons!

Revenge against GWS.

Going out on a win.

Giving us a tonic to get us through the summer.

Giving Cross the high note that he deserves.

And it's fathers day! Yay for the dads.

Apart from not quite going on with it in the last quarter, I don't think you could have asked for a better afternoon from the boys.

Amazing how two hours of football can have so much bearing on the next six months. All of our sudden, we've reached our target of 7 wins, we've broken the Etihad curse, we've unearthed some decent young talent in Harmes, White, Newton and Stretch, and the off-season suddenly doesn't look so gloomy.

Very pleased.

JKH needs to do more

Do us all a favour. Take your negative garbage and [censored] right off and let us supporters enjoy this win.

You are the typical negative supporters Roosy is talking about.

Today's side had Viney, Gawn, Salem, Michie, Harmes, White, OMac, Newton, Stretch, Hogan, Brayshaw, JKH and ANB.

Most experienced of these players is Viney with 49 games.

Tyson, Kent, Frost, VDB, Toumpas and Petracca also on the list, none with more than 50 games experience.

Particularly the first half this was led by the kids: Harmes, Hogan, Brayshaw, Viney, Salem and White.

He is slow and doesn't know how to find enough of the ball. He also struggles to find space. Will be lucky to be on our list after next year I would say

Plus pick 6 who Jason Taylor will nail.

Scary times ahead.

There's a reason he was one of the 1st three on my ignore list

White was good, love his skill set. Hope he becomes a regular in 2015. 3 rookie upgrades would be a first

Pfft coming from a moron who wanted to trade Christian Salem this year HAHAHAHAH!!

Can anyone seriously believe this guy?

Put Petracca and another run and carry player into the mix, hope that one of King or Hunt steps up and away we go. Icing would be a composed, self believing Toumpas.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
