Grimes marks with no one even near him and he just stands there and looks. [censored] idiot getting moving forward.

Frustrating game.

Mitch White has shown enough today to be elevated as well Nasher, very happy with the look of both

Surely this game is showing Roos to show faith in some of our young talent. Gotta love Salem.

Salem, Viney, Brayshaw, Hogan, Stretch. Thank you football gods for these guys. Please never leave us.

This is some stinking bad display of footy. Our skills are seriously deplorable and most our players are so dumb. No idea when how or where to kick/handball

The only thing GWS is killing us with is their speed. On a fast Etihad track you can just see how their fast half back rebound leaves us for dead. We desperately need leg speed. Desperately!

I haven't seen any of the game, but I like the look of being +43 in disposals and +15 in tackles.

Leading them in every statistic except free kicks, but only up by 2 points, suggests to me it's a case of effort good, skill bad. That is, at least, an improvement on the previous three weeks.

IMO there is a lot to be gained from this second half. We'll end up above St Kilda on the ladder in points, and if the margin is right, we may also exceed St Kilda's percentage too. If only to stick it up the insufferable support the Saints continue to undeservedly receive, I'd love to get this win. But add to that getting rid of this stupid Etihad stadium losing record, a win over GWS for the first time in 2.5 years, a win over a side which is 11-10 going into this game, and some confidence moving into the pre-season, and there is enough to be had in this game to have me caring for a win.

Edit: no surprises that, yet again, the positivity is being generated from our youth whilst our senior players are making errors.

Salem's a freak. You can't tackle him.

Mitchell White has made a couple of mistakes but he can find the footy and hit targets. I already like him more than Grimes.

Even if it's a messy game skills wise, does not bother me if we win. Would love a win to end the season

Copping it rough from the umps. Some shocking calls. These short handpsses are absolutely killing us. When we move the ball fast by foot we look good.

Hopefully grimes' last game. He is not good enough

Man I love the look of our young brigade.

Already love how O Mac and Mitch White play and read the game.

Our pressure has been first rate, but our ball movement has been too slow and shonky kicks in to 50. Should be a lot further in front.

Hopefully we can finish the season on a positive note.

Yes, I think you've made your point.

On the basis of today's performance, I'd add Harmes to that list.

It is unusual to win clearances. contested ball and tackles and yet be losing free kick count.

I think Sandy Roberts is watching The Lord of the Rings. If he announces "from whence it came" again I shall fear an invasion from middle earth.

On the plus side our pressure has been good and I'm liking Salem the more I see him.

I think it's been entertaining. It could be that I have just lowered my standards, but our players have busted a gut and come out on top in the contest. We've made it impossible for them to move it forward with any purpose.

Would like to see a bit more polish in our kicks though!

What happened with Dawes?

Thought he was named in the side.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
