It's a moot point anyway. If he plays anywhere next year it will be for a side that's in with a shot at a flag. That won't be us in 2016.

My tip is Norf if he plays on.

I still think, in theory, that we shouldn't overlook the opportunity to add some further experience to our side. We still have some kids who will need time and getting a 'rental', like Daniel Cross, for a few years isn't necessarily a bad idea. It just has to be the right player.

Steve Johnson isn't it. We need guys who will come in, provide good leadership skills and be an excellent role model for the kids. Johnson can get away with slotting in to a Top 8 side without much trouble, but he wouldn't be good for us.

Someone like Jed Adcock has the potential to provide what Cross did for us, and is an example of the type of experience we should be looking at getting.

His flogness outweighs his scoring prowess and he'd be a dick to be around. That's a no

Has lost his pace and is starting to succumb to injury.

But most of all, absolute culture killer. Massive no from me.

Yes why would we want an extroverted winner in amongst our introverted losers, would definitely kill the culture. By the way Freo Fyffe has been reported 3 times this year better get rid of him

Yeah why would we want someone who has been banned by his own club for his behaviour amongst our weak culture and kids hey?

And you're really comparing Fyfe to Stevie J, and Freo's culture to ours? Get out of the shallow end of the pool mate...

know for a fact that he isn't popular amongst playing group and never has been really. Prefers to hang out with older crew like Brownless etc. Players love him as a player, but as a person, he is a [censored] of the most supreme order.

10 years ago ffs. You're probably one of those who bangs on about MFC only having nice boys on the list. By the way if Hodge or Sewell became available better avoid them, too rough for our club. A team full of choir boys will get you no where. Get out of you own poll.

Declining fast ... does anyone actually watch the footy? Stevie J was one of Geelongs best and would be a perfect mentor to others. His bad boy days are so far in the past. Why are the cats dumping him? to allow salary cap room for Dangerfield & Svitt Selwood.

Stevie J would be better than most our stragglers. Perfect 3 year half forward goalkicker. We need mids but also need GOALKICKERS

There's a big difference between being tough and being a d#*khead.

You should know...

You just proved that you don't actually watch the footy.

Terrific Footballer, but our resources could be more positively utilised

After today I think we can be fairly selective about the 'experienced' players we get in (if any).

By which I mean NO...

Second that. Ditto Luke Hodge when the Hawks decide his indiscretions would be unpardonable were they to find out he voted Labour. In the end, we don't want thugs and snipers and selfish duckheads. Yes, I know there are there among you who want a team of Grinters . I'd prefer a team of Flowers, Schwarzes and Vineys. And Wights and Styne's and Alves and Wells and Lovetts.

Thank you very much.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
