Might be a bit early,but if the players have checked out, why not look back at 2015 now. Not a lot will change in the coming weeks.

Fent your disgust, things that were highlights for you. The players,coach,AFL (MFC related). I could write a book of where it went wrong. Lets not just discuss the lowlights, some positives came about this year. Put aside the last few weeks of despair,and look at the whole picture. What went right, and where the improvement came from, areas we failed. Go for it.

I will kick it off will my view on the playing list. You may agree or not but lets hear your point of view, as we all have our own opinions.

Another Season : Harmes King , O.McDonald White

These players have shown enough to believe they could be good players, they need more time to develop.

Undecided = Fitzpatrick , Hunt , Kennedy-Harris , Mitchie , Riley , Spencer , Toumpas.

Fitzpatrick: Could be a handy swing man. He played some pretty good games for Casey when moved to the backline.He bought some of that form with him into the seniors for a few games. His infamous tunnelball didn't help his cause. But there must have been more to just that brain fade. Jury is out.

Hunt : Has been on the list for 3 years and has been injury plagued. When he has been fit he hasn't been able to string enough good games together at Casey. Borderline in my book to be a regular,

Kennedy-Harris : Another player that hasnt convinced me yet.

Mitchie : Been useful in a poor team. A depth player in this point in time.

Riley : see above.

Spencer : Will never be a top ruckman. He has some good assets but he is just making up the numbers.

Toumpas : Remember this 'bubbly' kid we dratfed.? Seems his bubble has burst,he is now floundering.

Need upgrading = Cross , Dawes , Dunn , Grimes , Garland , Howe , Lumumba , Pederson

Cross : Was handed a lifeline and made the most of it. He has been a good player for us. But his use by date I think is up.

Would like to see him stay on as a mentor type player at Casey as he would be a great role model.

Dawes : I am marking him down as a big disappointment.Expected a lot more from a key position player.He fails to deliver on a regular basis. Dawes holds his spot only because we have nobody good enough to replace him. Pederson is JUST a player but is name has been thrown around to take Dawe's spot. And Pederson is no game breaker either. We need to find another KPP or we are going nowhere.

Dunn : Lucky he wasnt delisted along with Bate. Dunn got a lifeline when moved to the backline. He is servicable,but lets be honest. He is part of a struggling backline.He will get beaten by a strong marking forward,doesnt have the speed to go with running forward. He bustles,hustles and negates.Thats about it. Offers no run out of the backline. Love his big torps but we need to find someone that will give us a lot more. He stays by default.

Grimes : I seen some improvement this year, but like Dunn, lacks burst speed,will get beaten in the air.Plays loose most times. In general hasn't got enough weapons. Wouldn't blink an eye if he was traded.

Garland : If he has decided to go, he goes. Nothing more than handy down back. Garland is another that doesn't give any run out of the backline. I would like to see him be a Simmo (Carlton) or Kelly type (Geelong). I hope he stays,but couldn;t care less what he decides.

Howe : Looks to me as he has checked out. He wasn't much better playing in the forward line. I get the feeling he doesn't like being a backman. he would rather play foward taking speccies. All good making the highlight reel,but a forward needs to be accountable for his opponent. Howe just doesnt come across as giving 100%. Howe could be a real weapon if he decided to make a real effort.

Lumumba : I liked the Harry 'O' better than this version.

Pederson : Unlucky to get injured when he did. He would have put some pressure on Dawes, and even helped out down back. But just a player. Will have some really good games, then go missing.

Gone : Bail , Jamar , M.Jones , McKenzie , Terlich

Nothing more to be said here, Thanks guys for your efforts,but we need new blood. A special mention to Jamar, was a top ruckman for awhile.

Now the game plan:

I cant; say for sure, if Roos is at fault or if the players just don;t have the smarts to carry out instructions. Either way its up to all involved to find the solution.

When we decide to switch on, we look a million bucks.Too many times this year we failed to deliver.

We lack burst speed, we fail to man up when we don;t have the ball.We play too far away from our opponents. We play like we train. That is we give off a handball to a player 3 feet away, then fail to block, sheppard, or give off to a player on the run. Not one player is prepared to make an effort to run past to accept a handball, they are all flat footed. Then watch as their opponent runs off them.

Leading forwards are overlooked. if spotted we are too slow to move the ball, and the worst, we miss a target and a turnover results, then everyone is caught out. And so it goes. The mids cop it for not presenting support for the backs. But if the backs didn't play so far off their opponents they could be 1/2 a chance to repel an attack.

I would be delighted with consecutive crappy wins.

I'd give the season a pass if I had a reasonable explanation as to why the players chose to give effort one week and chose not to the next.

I would be happy with the 6 wins as a sign of improvement if I could point to the games we lost and see consistent effort.

But I can't.

We're just bad.

Fail imho.

6 wins is a fail, pure and simple.

8 wins would have been a pass. Yes we won games we didn't expect, but we lost so many games we absolutely should have won. To lose to Essendon and Carlton this year is unacceptable, and we barely beat Brisbane.

The lack of consistent effort is what hurts. We have shown glimpses, but we did that under Bailey too, with some massive wins and upsets.

Have we improved since the days of Neeld, yes? Is that an achievement to be proud of? no.

It's like being at rock bottom and not digging yourself an even deeper hole. Well done, you haven't gotten worse and you climbed up a few inches only to fall back down.

We hold some of the most embarrassing records in league history, especially when it comes to winning 2 games in a row.

I see positive signs in Hogan, Brayshaw, Salem, Viney, but then I think why would these players stick around, or worse, not follow their current leaders and become the same inconsistent bunch of players they currently look up to?

To still be leaving games of football after so many years wanting more effort, is unacceptable. I do not care how young the list is, effort should never be questioned, and sadly with our team it's been in question for a decade and nobody has given us answers or solutions.

A low budget Horror with zero heart and character development.

We can't have losses like we did against Hawthorn,Essendon and Carlton and call the season a pass.We won 6 games and can play 1 quarter so we're about 25%.

I said a pass was getting out of the bottom four, whatever that required. If that remains the case, as bitterly disappointing as the last couple of weeks and the losses in general have been, I can't shift the goalposts now even if my inclination is to do exactly that. So it will be a begrudging pass. A win on the weekend actually would've pushed us up another spot to 13th.

The fact remains that we need the opposition to only half show up in order to grab a win. The commentary when Melbourne win is often about how poor the opposition were. The sad thing is, that commentary usually has merit. But we're at a stage now where winning is what matters most. Doesn't matter how they come or who gets credit. This club needs to win games. 6 wins has gotten us out of the bottom four, but it's fair to say a lot of improvement will be needed in order to continue that rise next season. On form, we'd be close to the worst side in the league right now.

There is definitely something salvageable from the last couple of games but for heaven's sake, they need to bring effort to give themslves a chance. The start to the game on the weekend is inexplicable after the embarrassment of the previous week. Somehow they need to dig deep and find something for the sake of the supporters cause really, it's beyond a joke now. Find something. Have some pride in yourself and your club and show the 35.000 members that their time and money isn't a total waste.

Terrible second half of the season again, the only shining light being that win against the pies. (what do they do during that bye round?)......seems to literally mean bye bye. Not expecting anything for the last 2 games.

2 years. Drafted in the 4th round, pick 57 2013. I hope he is given more time in some capacity, be it senior or rookie list. We could really use his pace.

I hope we hang onto him for another year. I think what this year showed us is that our list is extreamly shallow.

When we got injuries we were forced to bring in NQR's and young players who in better teams would be playing in the 2's.

Now of course there are injuries. So you will need to bring in a ready to go replacement.

And you will also want to give young players a taste of the big time. But there should only be a maximum of 2 of these replacement players per game.

So that would be 46 games per year to these players.

Yes - there were some good and unexpected wins but I have to strongly disagree with your assessment of the Bears win as a good one.

And in the good wins the players seemed unrestrained, perhaps unrestrained by expectations, and took the game on. And they looked good....only the following week to revert to their introverted game plans the following weeks and losing. The bears game was the only one we scrambled a win from using the negative game plan.

Yet the coaching panel and / or players didn't seem to realise this, so we looked bad and lost.

Trengove?? Needs to play a few at Casey.

At the start of the season there was a thread asking us what would be a pass mark for the year. I looked at the draw and said we should finish 10-12 on the ladder, probably with 8-10 wins. I stand by that. We should have had those numbers. The form we've shown when the team actually turned up to play says they were more than capable of doing that. Right now we sit on six wins, an improvement on last year, but we've lost to Essendon, Carlton and Saint Kilda (twice). That's a disgraceful return and one the team should be ashamed of.

FAIL

Positives for the season:

vandenBerg - He hasn't had a full pre-season yet and he's already shown an ability to dominate and intimidate opponents. He's going to turn into our midfield enforcer, and can hit the scoreboard a well.

Brayshaw - I never expected him to have a first season as impressive as this. He's the sort of hard uncompromising player you can build your midfield around.

Viney - I was having doubts last year given his low output. His second half has been amazing, he's been shutting players down and getting big numbers himself. Really showing his worth now.

Hogan - He's everything we hoped. What we need now is for the rest of the team to learn how to use him. Gawn's efforts on the weekend were a disgrace.

Garlett - He's been gold for us. Even with his poor set shots, he's closing in on 40 goals for the season. We've been crying out for a player like this.

There are a few others who have shown signs, but I don't see them as great beacons of hope quite yet. Not on the back of a season like this.

Going into the game Sunday I thought, we win this then pinch the GWS game in the last round makes 8 wins and a pass mark for the year. Yes we lost games to Essendon, Saints twice but in all reality we are better primed then those 2 sides and beating the likes of Richmond, Collingwood, Bulldogs is a far better achievement then better essendon & st.kilda because in the long run were better off then those 2.. But after the weekends performance and the week prior against the Dogs, I can't take that stance anymore. The weekend especially, what a disgraceful performance it was. Almost 2 full years in Roos tenure I thought these performances would be gone.. The year has been a failure, the shining lights been Hogan & Brayshaw.. The recruitment of Garlett and the suprise packet in Vandenberg. Gawns 2nd half of the season also.. That's about where it stops. After the promising performance of round 1 I thought this club has turned the corner, in actualy fact we have stagnated
