Jed Adcock

Who would you rather as depth, Adcock or McKenzie? Both will cost the same. Who provides more leadership, skill, experience, etc.?

We're hardly a destination club with the ability to get Dangerfield, Treloar, Motlop, etc. All we can do is keep replacing our second-tier players with better ones, until the draftees kick into gear and we finally climb the ladder.

None more than passionate than me [censored].

You resort to personal abuse....lowest form of communication from someone who is flustered because they have no recourse to debate.

Jed Adcock is a 30 year old, slow, inconsistent, cooked player - he will take up a spot on our list (if he comes) that could go to enlist another Vanders, or Harmes, or a White.

I want the list to improve too.....but someone who will impact, not gather coin to play for Casey.

Neither.

There's a new feel around our draftees....they're coming along nicely.

We can't magically invent extra draft picks though. All we get is pick 5, 23, 41, 59, 77, etc. Realistically that's only 3 quality draftees when we're looking at 8-10 delistings of our current list.

Where exactly do you propose the better replacements come from? Adcock might only be a 1 year solution to a 5 year problem at our club, but he's still more of a solution than the likes of Terlich and McKenzie.

Says the bloke who refered to an AFL player as rubbish. I'm not suggesting we draft him. I just found your post appalling disrespectful.

I don't believe that 8-10 will go...

Every draft springs a surprise.

I don't mind the principle of bringing in a mature age footballer (like Crossy) but not one that's really, really, cooked, ala Adcock.

Not against taking Adcock, but dependent on if we land a big fish or not. If we get a big fish then it's a yes for me as we'll have less currency to bring in other good foot soldiers.

If there's no big fish to be landed, then we should have enough currency to find better options.

Did anyone see his four goal game against the Bulldogs on the weekend? He is only 29 (30 next year). Change of scenery and a point to prove.

Lions supporters are furious he didn't get another year. If it's a shallow draft - definitely wouldn't rule out..

I saw half of that game and gee Adcock looked good. Clean hands, good kick, knows where to run to. Has another two years in him looking at that game. Caveats are that the game was very open and attacking, not a typical match and do we have his role covered already as a smaller half forward, midfielder as in Garlett, JKH, Kent, ANB, Brayshaw etc?

Adcock and Melksham fill completely different list needs. Why, when two completely different players at different ages and games experience come up to posters say I'd rather 'player x than player y'? How is it that hard to understand?

It's clear we're still short of quality and professional senior leaders. Given that Cross has been moved on, Adcock could be a handy addition for a year or two.

We still need the right senior players to lead the way for this young core group of future stars. Part of developing them to their full potential is to have some really strong personalities on the playing list. Cross has been monumental for Players like Viney, Brayshaw and Petracca in the knowledge his passed on. We need more of it.

Not opposed to getting him, he'll be coming to us for nothing, but we would have to have in mind a clear purpose of why we're getting him. Is he depth? Is he designed to be best 22 for 1-2 years while we develop our younger players? Is he there as leadership coverage?

He played a brilliant game v Bulldogs so he's still got something left in the tank but for both player and club we would need a clear purpose and plan before signing him.

Without knowing too much about him is he quick, medium paced, or slow. He are in desperate need of speed, I think that was one of the reasons we moved Crossy on, so if he is another plodder then it's a no from me.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
