GAME DAY - Round 20

We can play football.

Just not all the time.

You could watch that quarter and try to explain the holding the ball rule to a new fan of the game and they'd be so confused.

Congratulations AFL. In trying to make the game more marketable you've actually made it impossible to follow.

Boys were much better that quarter. We have improved - because 2 years ago we would have been rolled by 120 points.

Have every right to be [censored] at the umpiring. If we lose this it's definitely our own fault but the blatant favouritism to the Dogs gives me the shits.

Credit for that quarter but why the fark do they always go missing in the first quarter.

Surprisingly this could be a turning point for the club if they have a good final term - shows they can play decent attacking footy when their heads are in the right space.

It must be in their heads!! FFS!!!!

It's always in their heads. You only have to look at the Dogs' first quarter: confidence breeds confidence.

Comebacks when the game is over do nothing for me. I've seen them again and again and again. Let me know when they start like they mean it.

"Disappointing that we didn't start well, but we won the third quarter"

The game was over after 10 minutes.

Absolutely not good enough.

I believe that to be quite incorrect. He is providing a good target for us up forward. He hasnt been as influential as in recent weeks, but he has still contributed.

1 mark and 8 disp to 3/4 time, TMac replaces him in ruck. As I said, ineffective by Gawn

And while we're bagging out things ... "This reply has not been added as it has been posted too quickly"

A big F*** Y** to this forum's software.

Dogs are a very good team, and came out fired up. From then on, it was always about playing catch up.

5 goals to 2pts...didn't see that coming.

The umpiring is garbage in EVERY match. Not just ours. Wayne Campbell ... have you read the rule book?

illiterates cannot read

Surprisingly this could be a turning point for the club if they have a good final term -

we've had so many potential turning points this year, they'll invent a new polygon for us.

It really shits me when we play footy like that after not even being on the ground for the first half.

It must be in their heads!! FFS!!!!

Of course it's in their heads!!! All footy is. That's why we needed new coaching personel. 50% practical/50% mental.

5 goals to 2pts...didn't see that coming.

Saints came from 55 points down to beat the dogs. We can do this.

Oops, my mancrush Jesse just made a mistake......Oh Dear.

Too cute, but at least they tried

Aghhh, Jack...

Free Kick Count. 15-7. Appalling umpiring.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
