BUMP.

This bloke has 77 games under his belt, is 26 and is becoming more reliable each outing. Loving his output each week, has a professional approach to his preparation and Roos I think has given him the confidence and belief.

His tackling and accountability is a real plus for this team - so too his experience! Proves pivotal on tough matchups against fleet footed opposition and isn't scared to match it with taller, larger opponents.

Honestly, how bloody good is this bloke? He HAS to be the AA small back. So consistent on every level and his disposal under pressure is elite. What a gun.

If he played or a glamour team he would  be talked up as back pocket in the AA team

How close must he have been to getting the chop...and now look at him.

He is rarely the best and rarely the worst - he just seems to do his job every week.

Is in talks with the club about a new contract as well, should be done in the next few weeks.

Love him.  I was very, very wrong about him.

Thank god we (Rawlings) gave him another shot!

26 already? Wow. The years go quick. Love what he does and he's possibly the most consistent bloke in the side.

Could keep doing it for another 6 years at least.

Will never get the credit he deserves from the outside.

One of my first picked.

Has more scalps than Geronimo.

close - Jetta is hard as nails - Whelan was plain suicidal in his attack on the ball and player.

Same, my hand is up for sure.

Best part is because he is so reliable you don't even think about who will take xx small fwd, Jetts just takes it all on. Can only recall him being toweled up once in the last few years and that was last week against bloody Boomer.

Still makes some mistakes and needs to go with the first option, but has carved out a good career, for someone who was gone a few years ago.

Solid with no frills

Premiership sides often have one or two players like him...

we rate him. The club rates him

all that matters...

He had a lot of injuries in the first couple of years.

He hardly got on the park in the first three years.

He got over those problems and he has never looked back.

The reason he doesn't get due recognition from opposition punters is because half the time when he gets it the commentators credit Garlett.

Gee, this is nice, makes the 39 on my guernsey, which I have had there for 6 years, even shinier, Nev was plagued with shoulder and ankle injuries in his first few years and was shoved around in positions he wasn't suited for, always regarded himself as a defender/half back.

He expected to be delisted when he was, but hoped that there may be a rookie spot offered, was able to get through a pre season for the first time at MFC and hasn't looked back since, but sign of the times, was told in no uncertain terms that he was to improve his running ability over the last off season, believe he came back in such a shape and improved running times that even the training staff were shocked

Loves the challenge of going up against the 'small fwds', but with the rotations now is expected to stand anybody hence he was with Cloke and Daniher in last few weeks, meaning also he was not solely to blame for Boomer getting off the leash

On top of all that he  is a proud indigenous person, and a lovely bloke off the field, but then again I am bias

He ain't quick..he hasn't got a massive tank..he is nice by foot and hand.

I would call him honest - you pretty much know what you are going to get and that's not a bad thing

Not quite. Whelan was more ferocious and a more penetrating kick. No disrespect to Jetta who is in AA form. There is every chance Whelan's completely fair but brutal bumps would be unlawful today.

until 2016 season never thought he would make it. Too small , too slow and for a period seemed to lack the fire in his belly. But he is a true success story who has turned his career around. Now one of the first picked. Great achievement by Nev and coaches.  Restored the pride and reputation of our indigenous brothers at MFC.

Probably my favourite aspect is that he seems to play at the same standard every week. He'll rarely get the 6 in the Demonland POTY, but always seems in the thoughts of people for the low votes.

Underrated ball user too for mine. Rarely wastes it when he gets it.

It's funny listening to SEN every Monday morning a Melbourne supporter alwayscalls up and says Jetts is in All Australian form. Yet almost no-one puts him in the demonland votes.

Surely the people passionate enough to call up talk back radio are posting on demonland.

Nev is the epitome of an honest footballer who knows his limits, plays within them, and gets the job done week in, week out, without any fuss or fanfare.  Would be in the first hand-full Demons picked each week, I reckon.

And just one request from me please Nev .......... no more serious head knocks or concussions!

I think Nifty deserves a bit of praise after today. He's copped a fair bit on here recently, and I'm sure even he'd agree his form hasn't been up to his usual standard. I reckon he had a right ball tearer today, winning some crucial contests.

Might be a few on here due to give him a pat on the back.

Well done Nev.

I'm with you FireIn. Nev was back to his courageous and reliable best today.
