GAME DAY - Round 15

Featured Replies

I [censored] knew it. Nervous all week because I knew these guys would be up for it and we wouldn't be.

Oh well.

I feel ill watching this. You would think we would be used to it.

So who is going to stand up in the last quarter.

Is that a serious question?

I waste my time investing my passion in this club.

Vince and Jones start the last QTR inside 50..

We got hit in the face by the dead cat bounce.

5 goal turnaround needed.

Dreaming.

We'll be lucky to kick 5 goals in total.

Cripes that depressing.

Nothing has changed at this club since 2013 except personel...The problem still remains

Soft Club...Players get well paid to just turn up

30 mins to prove me wrong....

4 goals in a match against the worst "form" team in the comp!

The only club in the league that can't win basic "winnable" games of footy when they're well in front on the form guide and expected to win against horrible teams.

This was the match that we needed to get some traction after 18+ months under Roos and what do we get? Another insipid pathetic effort. Game gets blown open and only AFTER it gets well and truly blown open do we put a plus one behind the goal!!?? WFT coaching staff!?? Kicking by foot STILL horrendous! This is FOOTball ffs! Why do we continue to recruit/play guys who cant hit the side of a barn door (consistently) by FOOT!!??

As far as i'm concerned the club hasn't improved one iota. Anyone who believes we have are kidding themselves. We aren't even close to fielding a competitive unit yet that are capable of winning more than the odd game here or there against the worst of the worst and it's been like this for 4 seasons now and longer if you want to include the "no success" factor of finals (ie., 2006). Geelong was obviously our once in a season aberration.

We are still a bottom four team that occasionally plays above itself.

It feels like we will never improve as a footy team.

This is what my young daughter just said to me and u know what it definitely seems like that.

I am truely over this club and it's very very hard to keep the kids interested.

You wont be proven wrong. They will beat us this qtr also

Do we have a goal kicking coach!??

Fk me kick a single [censored] FFS!!

Tmac to chf . Roos in his playing days

That kick for Tmac sumarises the game perfectly.

I suspect you'll have plenty of company here Red

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
