Obvious choice is obvious, but see the bolded, enlarged name for the medias other choice. Everyone can see it except for our own supporters blinded by what draft pick he came in at. The kid is improving.
In other news, Dean Kent would be in this list too if he hadn't done his hammy. Such is life.

Tom McDonald: Already a quality player he would be close to the leading the club's best and fairest. Outstanding in the key defensive post he has stood tall since James Frawley departed, progressing from being merely a stopper to becoming a legitimate springboard out of defence. His early season form was outstanding and he was one of the few Demons who maintained good form against the competition's best teams. He is in the top five for rebound 50s with Essendon's Cale Hooker the only tall defender near him on that statistic. An honest competitor, the 22-year-old looks set to be a quality defender for many years.

McDonald's best game in 2015: R6 v Sydney Swans. Kept 'Buddy' Franklin goalless for just the 16th time in the Swans' forward's storied career. McDonald relished the battle and made Franklin work at all times.

Others who’ve stepped up: Christian Salem, Jimmy Toumpas - Peter Ryan

There's no disputing his improvement, Song and it's good to see.

Gee how long before someone rolled it out:

He playing better. Quite frankly hed want to; 3 seasons in ...for 24 games only......seldom mentioned in despatches. Probably in team presently because of injuries to others if we're truly honest

just for comparison say

some kid called Gus.. 10 games only , for a rising star nomination already. Auto first 22 selection

when Jimmy starts playing as consistently and as well as the Gusman...then theres something to crow about.

It would be an injustice not to acknowledge his betterment ( Dimitri ) but then really his only trajectory had to be up...just saying

Are you related to him - if not why would you even bother to mention it, other than trying to bluster others into thinking your not a stupid judge.

Calm down. It is relevant, given the amount of rubbish Toumpas has copped on Demonland. Won't make them see it any more, but it might get them to pipe down for a little while.

Yeah. I think we all acknowledge that he has been slow off the mark - no need to reiterate it every time his name comes up.

Why not be happy that he is making real progress without rehashing the past?

I am happy anyway. :-)))))

BB, here is Toumpas MFC history:

Year 1: Development year played 14 games - not bad for 1st year. BTW MFC forgot the development part.

Year 2. Development year Played 4 games, then went to Casey then missed half the season injured (appendix I think)

Year 3. Worked bl..dy hard on his weaknesses, has played 6 games. Has earnt his spot!!

Looks a decent track record in really difficult circumstances!

Without putting any pressure or expectation on I just love the way kids on our list are developing right now. James Harmes, Max King, Mitch White, Oscar McDonald are kids who are improving with game time at Casey. Billy and ANB were getting better with each game. Chrisian Salem, Angus Brayshaw, Jesse Hogan and Dean Kent look more accomplished each time they step out onto the ground. It's exciting to monitor their progress.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
