GAME DAY - Round 7

Thanks Ethan I am stuck in the Southern Stand!!

The perks over living interstate. Hope for your sake it gets better

100 points today, when you can't execute the basic fundamentals of the game, fans have every reason to switch off. I just can't understand how any afl footballer can get a game if they can't kick, how do you get drafted if you can't kick.

Nathan Jones has no defensive bone in his body, he is reminding me of Moloney, do what he wants and always 5-10m off his man

They've kicked a goal in the opening 30 seconds.

So much of this game is about desire, why is it that even after 7 years of re-building, we still have so many players who pick and choose when to put in?

Pedersen having a good game so far.

Edit- i take it back

any idea what happened to him?

Hamstring...Stretch now on.

This game is like a death of a thousand cuts...

Pedo one of our best.

No one in the goal square.

Shocking, dumb football.

Pedo couldnt kick 30 meters ... fm. Salem out with a hammy

Salem subbed out..... what happened there?

Edit: Hammy... oh ffs....

Oh well... I made it to round 7 this year before giving up... 6 rounds more than the last 8 years.

When's the draft?

our first score for a quarter and it was a rushed behind.

Any chance we can lay a tackle in the f50? Apparently 75% of he time we get it in there the Hawks get a goal. Wow. Just Wow.

What a stat What a bunch of lazy assed players we have.

Useless. Hardly takes skill to tackle. Its intent and desire. This team doesn't have it. CLean the list out again f&*&^ me

Hey Dermie. Can you please talk about Duyrea a bit more? You havent mentioned him enough yet.

When's the draft?

I hear there's some gems at the top of the draft we'll have unrivalled access to: the next Toumpas, Watts, Scully... can't wait to see who we pick!

Can we FFS make a tackle stick?

They are treating us with absolute contempt. They know we are beneath them and are letting it show. No respect and the players don't seem to give a fuxc. Fly the flag Melbourne you're playing like a bunch of flowers, lift your heads and play like DEMONS!!!

Nathan Jones and Tyson disappointing yet again. They have both been well below their best all year.

Jones can't get away with just going through the motions anymore. He has failed to take his game to the next level.

Jones is being tackles before he's even got the footy - who from our side is going over to help out the captain with a chop out? They've got a hard tag on him and he's got no support whatsoever

We have no one dangerous in our forward 50 so the Hawks will pay them no respect and just back each other in the contest while the rest run off and create mayhem. Can only prevent this if ur forward 50 pressure is up to AFL standard. It's not.

Our boys off HB rarely pull the trigger inside either. Up the line is too easy for the Hawks (and most clubs) who will just spoil and back their ball/foot skills to run & spread the ball back inside thier 50 real quick for the high % scoring conversion when its mostly one on one

seriously interesting choice of words there. Sums up quite a bit of Demonland, I think. (not a good time to be making such an observation, I know...)

Has Tyson had a touch?

I would even accept one of our guys starting a fight.... even if we lost the fight, at least it means we would have tried.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
