I think we will almost certainly play a defensive forward, because we have every game this year, but i highly doubt it will be Jordie, the only chance he really has of getting a run in my opinion is to lock down on Lachie Neale who i think probably struggles with a tag the most of the dockers mids

From all reports he has been made an effort over the preseason to right this wrong, so, given Freo's dominant midfield, and that we don't want to use all our ball winners (ie Jones, Tyson, Vince) on trying to shut all their opponents down, having a "negative" player in to play a pure shutdown role might be a tactic used for this week.

Playing Vince on Fyfe, where Vince can try and play off him, will give us a bit more balance. Jordie will give 100%. He will do the job asked of him, he will not do it with outstanding skills.

Funny that we pillory Watts for not having a go and McKenzie cops it for having a go with little skill. Who would you rather? McKenzie is worth a shot considering the alternatives.

Sorry Billy, but this is just nonsense. In essence, at the centre bounces we'd have Jones and Tyson against Mundy, Fyfe and Barlow with Sandilands being the dominant ruckman. Freo are actually a better team this year without Crowley playing as a hard tag. They've now got Neale also at the stoppages, and he's been sensational. We need to give ourselves every possible chance to win the clearances, and McKenzie offers nothing.

I'd bring in Riley, and start him as a sub. Michie would start and alternate with Vince in the middle. Vince tags Fyfe when he's on the ball, and Garland gets him when he's up forward. Michie plays on the ball when Fyfe is resting up forward.

That really is a great summary, i really think its the right time to release Vince, he's done a great job replacing Viney while gaining match fitness and touch but would be great if he got 40p's and gave us a winning chance .
