Give him money. Lots of it.

Should have got at least three frees within 20 meters of goal today. The last one the GWS player pulled his jumper so hard it looked he had a tent on his chest.

the running back mark into open goal, PHWOAR

That gather and lightning quick handball to Newton for a goal

He is the total package

usually when you use quotation marks you write what the person actually said verbatim

But he didn't use double "quotation" marks which you would use if you were quoting them verbatim. He used single 'quotation' marks which is shorthand for paraphrasing something....

Just sayin....

Give him a blank cheque and say you write what you want on it mate.

will finish his career as one of Melbournes greatest ever players.

The mark he took on 3 quarter time shouldn't be possible. Had 2 blokes in the air trying to rip each arm off it, still holds it like a vice.

More importantly he pinged the target in the cheer squad when he slotted the goal.

Forget Howe, that was the best mark I've seen from a Demons player this year. The context of the game and then to go back and slot the goal made it even better.

Ended up 3rd in the AFL for total contested marks and 3rd in contested marks per game.

Beast.

I reckon this bit of play is the highlight of Jesse's wonderful first year.

That's not true, at least not in the Harvard referencing system. Single quotation marks indicate a quote and double quotation marks are used inside a quote when that quote contains a quote.. and you can quote me.

Just sayin...

Its like he owns the field, everyone are just pawns in his game. He read that play from a mile away.

Spot on. Made all the more frustrating by the free man ban got when he dived forward after minimal contact.

Never.Loses.His.Feet.

Classic parting of the Red Sea.

If he goes, he goes.

The club will trade hard.

Roos and Goodwin aren't wet between the ears.

Or behind them either !

Just to show he has his goal kicking run up settled, I notice he does again stutter as he runs into the square

He's a very different kind of player but this passage brought back memories of the Schwartz glory year (s) Hope its at least a decade for Jesse.

the GWS bloke #35 was so overcome simply by being near Hogan in full flight that he seems to just pass out on the deck without anyone touching him

Nah, I think he's just quietly sobbing to himself - an early candidate in the Jesse Hogan Made Me Cry stakes.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
