Greetings All,

I called in to training briefly and noted (in term of this weeks game), Sunday's Casey players all trained together except for the following: [Pedersen] and Bail, who both trained with the forward group. Michie trained with the Casey bunch so I would expect the Frost replacement to be one of those two or an outside chance Gawn.

Interestingly, Dawes joined the rucks training for a while but not Pedo and Van Demon was with the mids. That's about all I can tell you.

Hogan was practising his goal kicking without the stutter.

Everyone looked pretty sharp and switched on.

White has a very nice kick (first time I've seen it I think).

I'm sure others will add their bits and pieces.

Interesting about Dawes into the ruck - I am sure he loves that...

Well, if it has to happen for team balance he can suck it up.

Ahah, yes, i heard he hated it at Collingwood when they tried to turn him into a ruckman and that's one of the reasons he wanted to leave.

Suck it up Dawesy, you get paid enough!

I would say he needs to if he wants to hold his place in the team.

White has a raking left foot with exquisite placement ! Easily will be one to watch!

And it's not as if it will be a long term answer - surely even he can see the benefit of giving Jamar a chop out in the short term.

Surely Bail won't get a game over Mitchie...

I might just break down in tears if this happens.

He gets more goals and has better defensive pressure. 2 very good reasons why he would.

I remember seeing Mitchie always letting his man loose when he played last time

He also massacres the bail and can't kick set shot goals.

Mitchie at least is young enough to get better.

Bail has had his chance, I'd like to see another player get a go.

And going by VFL form, viv is in better form.

You have my vote.

Bail has shown for years he is NQR.

I don't mind that - it would probably come down to pace - Michie would be another slow inside mid to the team. Bail is more of a natural forward who can go through the midfield.

I would also like to see Michie however I think he is trying to develop his outside game at Casey.

WTF does Michie need to do? Rated BOG in the 5 Casey games, Rated top 4 against Dockers. He is played as defensive mid and isn't allowed inside the forward 50 so isn't going to get goals but the one time Casey let him play offensive he kicked 3. Goes at 90+ efficiency and get a truckload which means every possession is worth 2. As for more defensive pressure Viv had 9 tackles plus nearly 30 disposals on the weekend. Check the Dockers stats 7 tackles as I recall. What more can they want from him?

If memory serves correctly, Dawes didn't like rucking for Collingwood as he didn't have the tank for it. He'd spend six minutes a quarter rucking, then be exhausted when returning to the forward line. His formed dropped off dramatically as a result.

He's lost a lot of weight in his time at Melbourne and he's clearly improved aerobically, as he spends most of his preseason running laps of Gosch's paddock... maybe it's time to have look at it..?

Can we not turn the training thread into the usual whinge fest please

Jayden Hunt trained with the backs when they split up, and I can't see him getting a gig on Friday, Pedersen and Bail could have been for the benefit of any Richmond watchers, give them something to think about

Dawes went nowhere near the ruck training, I was taking photographs of it, Max King slipped as he jumped in one drill and nearly killed Greg Stafford (pic will be on Twitter)

Had a laugh with Viv Michie, told him to bang on the door harder

Bernie Vince enjoyed all the talk about his tagging job, looking forward to this week

Nathan Jones was very vocal at training today, in one drill told anyone without earshot "you have to [censored] tell him"

The drills were the usual ball movement with more or less defenders

Jesse Hogan spent 20 minutes at the end with McPherson goalkicking

Roos got the group together at one point and did a lot of pointing and talking, then handed over to McCartney who did the same, then back to Roos, good to see

Any questiions feell free, pics oo Demonpk Twitter soon

Saty, is it true that Richmond had their spies watching training?

Can only explain why Michie was training with the Casey guys and Bail training with the main group.

Cheers.

Is it fact he isn't allowed inside attacking 50? What's your source?

Probably just their club doctor coming round to do some check ups

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
