GAME DAY, ROUND 2, 2015

A goal! Wow! Newton - he's the only person to have kicked a goal for us since Garlett's freak snap 10 minutes into the second quarter.

Lumbering tall forwards like Dawes were never going to work against the GWS midfield. Dropping the creative, small and fast JKH, who can zip through the midfield was probably a huge mistake.

Very easy to see Dawes' performance as poor but there's nothing to work with at all.

I mean, we've had around only 16 inside 50s in 2.5 quarters.

Anyone know a good TV show worth watching?

The missing

Why dont you put me on ignore if it twists your knickers. Sorry for being angry at this pathetic performance.

Nah. I dont put people on ignore. I dont doubt your love for the club, just think your post was of equal performance to the teams.

I cant watch anymore. cya.

Just tuned in. Is it 10, TEN unanswered goals after s great start. WTF???

At least we don't have to listen to Dwayne Russell.

Jones' body language reminds me of Frawley's.

Goal..........| |*| |..........Newt... who cares really

Melbourne 8.8.56

GWS 15.8.98

Edited by red and blue forever

Was worried at half time thinking GWS would come but couldn't imagine this.. Jones must be injured or something. Disappointing we just couldn't stop the rot, once a side gets a run on you'd think you could stop it but we just couldn't get our hands on the ball, couldn't win the ball out it the middle. GWS have tackled and pressured us for 2 quarters we went to water.

It was actually 14 from the end of the 2nd to the start of the 4th.

If the game had started then we'd be 84 points down. Without a goal.

For the love of god Dawes is useless

And as we all know, no Jones no Melbourne.

Salem a real highlight in what has been a massive [censored] lowlight.

Just put on Vikings season 3.

Can they play AFL football?

As we need a few new players.

We have psychological problems. We go to water the moment our opposition puts on any pressure. Second half against Bulldogs, entire Essendon game, second half today.

So much for spending all 2014 practicing tactics to stop the opposition when they get on a roll

Writing was on the wall in the 2nd quarter....

GWS are a good team...

You won't be saying that when good teams thrash them. And they will. When we are bad, we are the worst team in the AFL. Yes, including St. Kilda. GWS are young, very fast and skilled. A good 'team' they are not.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
