Coming to the Dees is like thinking you are going to win Tattslotto with a torn out of date ticket!

Seriously why would he??

A young player who is clearly an up and coming gun of the comp and, an MFC supporter as he grew up, should be the number 1 priority for the club.

Throw the [censored] bank at him - plus some.

I really like Prestia as a player. He's a better talent than Nathan Jones.

However, along with Jones, Viney, and potentially Stretch and ANB it represents a very short midfield, especially when the grain has been going the other way.

That said, he's an exceptional player and I've always held the view, if you're good enough you're tall enough.

Hale didn't actually reject us. The Hawks out bid us.

The rest can entertain themselves to themselves.

He rejected us. The Hawks don't "outbid" anyone. Like Geelong, you go there for success, not coin.

But, EVEN if they did offer more, it's obvious who was more attractive and why he chose the Hawks.

When he said outbid, he meant a better trade for North was offered then what we offered. Hale was happy to go to either.

Thanks. Yes, that's jogged a memory.

Its all hot air until he signs on the dotted line

Beretts mail can be good but still....

hot air is good if its about positives for us,

the 'purple beret' is quick off the mark with his info, since we've been talking about it now for about 6 weeks. nothing escapes the nose, of 'the purple beret'

The Swans outside of Josh Kennedy aren't exactly a big midfield if you look at all the players they rotate through

Parker, Hannebery, Mcveigh, Mcglynn, Mitchell what they lack and what we also currently lack is pace, they only currently have Jetta who is providing any run. Rohan injured and Shaw looking cooked along with their aging defence is why they are currently where they are

We made a massive advance during neelds time and he was very tempted then, despite the losses he and his family are mfc at heart and always have been, he knocked us back becaus were a serious mess off field, now we have a good situation off field and are getting there on field, the talks with dee-on have been going on quite a while now and seemingly progressing well. Seems he's one who takes his footy seriously and perhaps some of his team mates don't, but gcs have been aware of this for a while and i expect this will happen pretty early in trade week, our first round pick imo will be handed over.

Petracca isn't short.

Petracca isn't short.

Neither is Brayshaw, Watts & VDB who are all already rotated through there. Salem is no midgit either should he see minutes there. I'd say pace & talent/skill in our midfield would be more important than height right now.....

For all the skeptics on here, keep skeptical. I on the other hand sway on the side of optimism for this trade to happen. I question as to why this trade is not possible?

It can't be because of past trends as fellow demonlanders rarely seem to get early trade opinions right so why not this.

It's reported that he is keen to get back to Melbourne (Victoria I should say). Gold Coast (as a club) are under the spotlight and with all due respect, are very ordinary without the messiah and are likely to lose players to the go home factor (there seems to be more light at the end of the tunnel for GWS than GC). He and his family are Red and Blue through. It breathes all the possibilities of something realistic.

Now here's to hoping though if this was to occur, lets stop and think for a moment that if Dee-on was traded to Melbourne (for whatever it took, say a Howe or whoever + pick), our midfield would next year basically then see the additions of Dee-on, Trengove and Petracca. Not a bad nett gain to our starting 22 considering our current plight.

Fingers crossed

I find it coincidental that Paul Roos came out yesterday and said that our club is still an attractive proposition for free agency players.

If we somehow land Dion, we become much much more attractive than we are now as well.

IMO we need a young core who make a 'pact' like the GWS guys. Stick together, get better, win etc etc.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
