Cascade Beer

Now here is a point of difference Jizz. We "plastic farmers" have to work for our dollars. We do not receive the obscene government subsidies and tax support that your lot do. In fact, I am am probably subsidizing your luxurious lifestyle. Next time you buy one of Biffen's whores, think of me.

Ease up on the poor fella, he spends more time on 'land than on the land these days

Disagree strongly with the anti Seppo sentiment.

Try a sierra nevada pale ale or a Big Eye IPA. Very good beers.

For every tolerable drop there are 3 fruit flavoured beers, or it's sold by some [censored] with a Salvador Dali moustache, puts me off, you have to understand NY is hipster heartland, Fitzroy has nothing on it (I really really miss the Napier and Standard Hotels). I will agree about the IPA.

Agree Molloy, Canadian Moosehead is also a nice drop.

If you want a good beer head to the Mountain Goat Brewery in Richmond on a Friday evening. Otherwise my beer of choice is Stone & Wood Pacific Ale from Byron Bay.

Great to see Cascade honour a Melbourne legend. Having said that Boags do produce much better beer, but the Moo Brew Brewery just outside Hobart is fantastic. $30 will buy you 8 stubbies from their collection of 6 (the hef was my favourite), an hour long tour and shoot some hoops at the end!

Stone and Wood? That would be the Jasper Ale in the 500m bottle? I've got a cold one in the fridge just looking at me - but not for long!

About 4 years ago I spent 3 weeks in San Fran (note the hip abbreviation). I lived just on the fringe of the "Castro" district but ventured into the Mission district more than once. I discovered a remarkable variety of Mexican beers - and enjoyed them all.

Always pictured you as a craft beer, hipster kinda guy Uncle Bitter. However, if your avatar has been taken recently then you've clearly gone through quite a transformation since. I take it you are drinking vodka Shirly Temples these days. Nice.

I prefer my home brew to most beers. Aldi had tasting paddles on sale on the 27th, so the father-in-law and I sampled a few homies while the Aussies were making hay at the 'G (while Smith/Haddin/Johnson/Harris were batting in the first dig).

Left to right: Nelson Sauvin Pilsner, American Wheat, Riwaka Summer Ale, Chinook Amber Ale.

2 steaks, one stubbie, somethings not quite right here

Y'know, when the gas is too high there's a couple of things going on here, one, the man is impatient, two, he don't know how to cook a steak, three both one and two, I apologise in advance for any offence caused.

Don't let it do your head in.

I like Asahi, but my favourite Japanese beer (and one of my favourite beers full stop) is...

yebisu-beer.jpg

Yes, delicious stuff.

There are few "bad" Japanese beers, really. All very malty and rich.

I'm not big on Australian beers generally. I much prefer Asian, German and Czech beers. Dutch beer is disappointingly bland. That said, Carlton Draught was made to be had with a pie. The two go together well. Although maybe I'm just used to the flavour. Draught tastes like it's been filtered through a bar mat if you have it after a pint of Asahi.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
