The Senior List Jigsaw Puzzle

Gore could be around.

Toby McLean is one I rate extremely highly who may be there at around 40. Jack Lonie could be there, would be happy to get Nath Drummond here too.

Talls Dan Howe, Dan Nielson and Brenton Payne could be useful gets in this range too. Oscar McDonald could be around the mark as well.

Touk Miller is one id seriously look at.

So... within how many hours will these 3 be delisted?

There were rumours about the playing group being told "8 of you won't be here next year" after one of our worst losses. Who knows if true.

5 already gone plus Blease, Tapscott & Strauss but neither of those 3 were playing that day!

Considering most the players that will be gone played stuff all games last year, it is simple.

A post match thread on here, god knows where.

Was posted around the time someone said Strauss, Blease and Tappy had all been told in their exit interviews the club would try to trade them.

Jeez, we better start signing up those 2015 boys.

With only Tapscott out of contract and deadline looming 31st Oct, i can only see him moving on and that will allow us 3 picks at the draft 2, 3. and 40, was hoping we could use pick 53 as well..

If Tapscott goes we will have 4 picks.

7 have gone so far and 4 have joined.

The Jetta upgrade will come in another way. Either LTI or a player going to the Rookie list.

There is no mechanism for this Jetta workaround. It won't happen.

He will have to be delisted and picked in the Rookie Draft.

Who will have to be delisted? If it's Jetta I don't think he is on the senior list. If he is, someone then needs to be delisted and maybe another, for us to use our 4 picks. That is without a DFA or PSD 2.

I have just looked at the club site and Jetta appears with the senior list and only 2 boys, King and Harmes, appear as Rookies.

So if he stays there, we at the moment only have spots for ND 2 and 3. If Tapscott is delisted that gives us pick 40, or PSD 2 or a DFA.

We clearly need to free up some more spots.

Jetta has been upgraded http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-10-23/georgiou-next-demon-to-go

As a result we are in a tricky situation of having to decide whether to delist more players or just to waste picks 40, 53 and potentially a UFA or pre-season draft option like Port's Ben Newton which would be pretty stupid really given the lack of quality on our list now.

As a result I can't see us keeping Tapscott and it is in our interests to delist one other contracted player (eg: Evans) and also move one other back down to the rookie list (eg: McKenzie) and take a chance that they won't be grabbed by another club, which is a pretty good risk policy given our current standing.

What I don't understand is why this hasn't been done already? I get they have to wait and see what players become available by other club's cullings, but we still should be aiming to use pick 40 and 53 regardless. Is Tapscott away overseas and therefore Roosy can't speak to him personally yet. Ditto Evans.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
