That is not what it said in the Age in either article. It said he has reinjured his navicular, not that he has suffered multiple breaks around both screws. Maybe you got that somewhere else.

Is it worrying that Richmond's medical team were the only ones who picked this up...? Would the Demons have done scans on him at some point soon if not for the trade...?

The mischievous way of looking at it would be that the Melbourne medical team/coaching panel knew that they were selling Richmond damaged goods....

In the case of Clark, absolutely none.

Clark did his foot in a marking contest when he landed awkardly and his trailing leg slammed into the ground with great force.

If you were at the 'G at the time you'd have no doubt Misson had sfa to do with it.

He never did land well (remember his near broken neck) and should have been given lessons by the boy from Dodges Ferry.

I think Blease, Tapscott and Strauss have not been delisted in the hope that they may be used in a trade. Trading ends, out they go, and there'll be plenty of room on the list.

Often what is said with good intents pans out as something different. I wish Jack well. I'm sure he'll endeavor to do just as he states and play footy again , and for the Dees. I'm sure the club means well and is serious in supporting this.

He is contracted I believe til the end of 2015. I sadly predict that some time mid 15( or before ) he'll retire. Take no joy in thinking this , just seems the way it'll be.

At some point he'll have to decide between shortish term optimism and longer term reality. He's sliding further and further behind that 8 ball and that's a shame.

and if his foot shows no sign of improving or being able to stand up to the rigors of AFL Footy then he won't get one - its that easy.

You know, I'm ok with that. If in 12 mnths Jack can play give him a contract 1/2/3 yrs whatever. If he can't play I'm sure Jack will want to get on with his life (perhaps outside football) and he won't want a contract.

If we choose our rookies wisely, if need be Jack can go onto the LTI list in 2015 and a rookie be promoted.

Trengove's situation is not a simple list management decision.

And if the club wishes to go to the Rookie Draft to find his replacement for 2015, then that is fine. The kind of talent we are talking about is unlikely to warrant risking the gains made with the playing group and their belief in the club and themselves.

the cultre of the club takes eons to change & is defined by many things including the culture of the onfield/off field Team. the leading players, & coaches/administrators

our club needs a harder tougher culture to grow, from this Roos era.

We must stand by jack he can play football and loves the MFC. He is no Mitch Clarke and we have to pay someone on our list and on my last count there is maybe 5 who earn there pay checks. Good luck jack

AFL is a business and sometimes a cruel / brutal one at that. A rookie spot at best for 2016 if his foot can heal correctly.

All businesses are just groups of people coming together with a common purpose.

Trenners deserves a chance to try and get back to footy if that is what he wants and if medical opinion is that is a viable option.

He has shown outstanding character for his age through turbulent times a our club on and off the field.

He is contracted for next year and I would accept the club extending his contract to 2016. If he is on $500,000 (The Ox's guesstimate on SEN this arvo) in 2015 the 2016 extension would obviously have to be significantly less.

For those who think that we need to move Trengove to the rookie list and then delist at the end of 2015 to show we have the culture required to win a flag how did the Hawks go back to back when they kept Max Bailey on the list as he played a total of 6 games in his first 5 seasons because he did his knee 3 times?

You might have thought that given he had been experiencing pain in the foot our club would have done a full range of scans, this is embarrassing for our medical team makes us look like dodgy used car salesmen or just negligent

And of course you know that scans weren't done, and you know that scans always show up these things right from the start??

Of course if he had been put out to rest for half a season or more there would be many here labelling him as a wimp, and our medical / physio team as overcautious.

Trengove had stopped running 2 weeks before the Richmond medical after soreness resulted in an MRI scan. The Richmond medical included a CT scan which more explicitly showed the damage to the navicular.

Is it correct that Hird did his nav twice?
