BB doesn't the list just have to be done by list lodgement. In other words, couldn't a club secure 5 blokes in trades and then just delist 5 at list lodgement, or have I got that wrong?

We only have three uncontracted players left on the list.

I've been made aware that there's a high possibility two contracted players have been told they won't be on the list next year. Be payed out and moved on

Nasher..I think the point Red is making , and I agree, is that you can MAKE room...if you really want to

Yes you can make room but I think it's a dangerous philosophy in terms of player management. It's also very costly as you need to pay out the contract and then pay for the replacement player. In a club where finances are important you'd need to be sure the cost is worthwhile.

Unless we have targets we really want or earlier picks than we currently have it seems like an expensive exercise to me.

McKenzie? Terlich?

Terlich was re-signed for 2 years (sigh) a few months back, so he ain't going anywhere.

It would probably be McKenzie, although Roos seems to rate him as an effective tagger. Too bad his disposal is shithouse.

There may also be a player or two moved on in a deal..not saying thats a definite but it might be in amongst the 'plays' being considered..

If the cost IS worthwhile...These day sit may well done. The cut-throat nature of these dealing have gone up a notch . Its a by product of the FA I feel.

Makes sense if we have salary cap room why not move them on and draft in some kids with late picks or mature age VFL/WAFL/SANFL in their place. There are a few who just aren't going to make it

2015

Trengove, Jamar (UFA), Garland (RFA), McKenzie, Howe, N Jones (RFA), Evans, Gawn, Fitzpatrick, Viney, Toumpas, Pedersen, Salem, Kennedy-Harris, Hunt, Cross, Bail, Riley,

Above are those contracted for next year - delist and paying out people is fraught. So make a good decision if you go down this road.

If you want anyone more than ND2, ND3, ND23 and Frost - you will need to delist one or more the above.

With Frawley and Mitch gone, Trengove's front-ended contract tapering off and having to pay min % of sal cap we might as well use it to payout players!

Uggg! I can't believe I wrote that!

What a terrible position for us to have to do that.

I know this sounds cold and heartless but I'd have no hesitation in sacking Evans.

As I see it -

Out: James Frawley, Shannon Byrnes, Mitch Clark, Mitch Clisby, Daniel Nicholson = 5 list spots.

In: Pick 42 (Billy Stretch), Jeff Garlett (Pick 61), Heritier Lumumba + 2 list spots. We could still trade for Sam Frost

Uncontracted to be delisted if not traded: Sam Blease, James Strauss, Luke Tapscott = 5 list spots

To come in: Pick 2, Pick 3, Pick 23, , Neville Jetta upgrade, PSD (Sam Frost) = List complete.
