Sanderson Sacked!

Featured Replies

Plausible but conjectural.

3AW just quoted Danger recently stating that he would stay at Adelaide 'as long as Sando was the coach'.

Someone said on SEN that Goodwin's manager has stated that he isnt interested in the Adelaide job.

Neither of these observations are clear facts but both cast enough doubt on assertions.

Not conjecture about the match day coaching, personal observation. I don't think he was a very good match day coach.

The rest is reading the tea leaves, it's pretty obvious what's happening. The reasons may not be as obvious and which players are involved but there may be fallout from those close to Sando then again probably not. When Lyon unseated Harvey there was noise for a week or 2 then the players got on with it.

To be fair I would rather Danger than Goodwin.

Well...we do HAVE a coach, we don't have a Dangerfield (yet possibly )

Humphrey B Bear is also on his way there too I hear!!

Don't think anyone knows what the hell is going on not even the crows.

Geez, they're throwing out gems everywhere. Someone's got to get it correct sooner or later. Even a stopped clock is right twice per day.

"Brenton is a quality person and accomplished coach, but recent weeks have unearthed a need for change," Chapman said.

"Both parties have realised they have different perspectives on where we are at as a footy team.

Sounds like the players have decided, once again, they don't like the coach.

Blight had the best idea, he got rid of the troublemakers before they could get rid of him.

Didn't have a lot to say at the interview and apparently forgot to wear pants.

Excellent power point presentation may have saved him.

How do you get to Adelaide on Twitter? Is that a new airline?

Not sure but apparently better than being there in person.

went there once, like a bigger version of Geelong (where i live); not a good thing.

lives up to the title of West Horsham, it really does

The biggest country town in Australia can't be all bad ...

I expect this kind of tomfoolery from the likes of us and St. Kilda but the Crows? Something isn't right.

Seems to me it went something along the lines of:

Patty: I'm sick of this coach, I'm going to play under Roos and Goodwin for the rest of my career.

AFC: We'll sack Sanderson this very afternoon and get Goodwin to coach here.

Patty: I'm staying!

Well, maybe not. Possible scenario though.

Footy clubs do strange things when club legends are involved.....

Voss

Hird

Stynes

Riccuito

Buckley

Roos (a la Swans and Terry Wallace)

Nathan Burke and Blight

Also lost Gunston, Bok and Davis just before he began.

And lost his right-hand-man and experienced second-in-command in Dean Bailey, first through suspension, then through cancer.

So far we have Goodwn, Dew and Thompson as options, or certainties, for the Crows with maybe Lyon or McKenna thrown in to the mix and it hasn't even been 24 hours since Sando got dumped.

Tudor has big wraps on him

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
