Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]

Featured Replies

The Cameron speculation still around. Maybe there is a fair chance he can be extracted.

Certain that it will be part of discussions between Saints, Dees and GWS. Would imagine if the three clubs are in talks about deals that favour all three clubs, the Saints bidding on Billy would be part of discussions. Who knows, us trading our second rounder may be part of these discussions, so a non bid from the Saints may benefit all parties.

I'd love Cameron at the Dees.

No problem, just pretend you didn't read it.

Those are confirmed as talked about within the club, which is more than potential journalist's conjecture and speculation.

That it is, cheers.

"It's been reported on Melbourne Radio that St Kilda has today put forward their #1 draft pick in exchange for gun Sydney midfielder Luke Parker."

Why would they.....their window is now.

LOL.

Why on earth would Luke Parker even entertain that? Laughable.

This would be a reasonably fair deal for both clubs I'd reckon given the gun midfielders that the Swans will have access to via their academy in the next couple if years.

My god, can you imagine the furore if Sydney all of a sudden has pick 1?

They can't even give their pick 19 etc back cos that's reserved for Isaac Heeney...who's probably the best midfielder in the draft.

LOL.

Maybe he can see the potential on their list and wants to help a team in a premiership drought make some history. Apparently Dangerfield is similarly motivated . . . . he says with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

Again from Facebook, Damien Barrett has reported that Alex Fasolo from the collingwobbles has asked to be traded out. Don't mind him, capable of racking up possessions and kicking goals. WA boy and unsure of his current worth.

It may well just be a rumour but Parker does gets a chance to get rich very quickly if he moves. Money talks ... everyone has a price. Parker's manager might have been contacted a year or so ago for all we know. More and more players are going to be targeted who have only been in the system for 2-5 years.

We did it ourselves with Tyson and we were almost certainly offering Dom a fair bit more money than GWS. Maybe not a colossal amount but enough to get him more than interested. Dangerfield aside, I'm expecting us to do at least one Tyson/Salem type deal again.

Free agency has had the effect of opening up other ways for clubs to bring in established talent. We're no longer all that surprised when a young talented player is out of contract and might want a move.

Heh. Maybe sacking Micky Milkshake will be their Norm Smith moment.

If true Collingwood look like having more holes than a kilo of Swiss Cheese.

Are the floodgates opening up?

Dylan Shiel - big coin - worth it. Get it done already.

Wouldn't he be worth more than pick 2? because didn't we offer them pick 2 last year, and they rejected. I think that's one of the many reasons why GWS supporters have completely disregarded us as being in contention for Shiel's servieces...as well as many other reasons.

What, all 4 of them?

If GWS want Patracca then they'd want pick 1. Pelchen loves the draft (and justifiably so in his case). Picks 2&3 for pick 1 and a later pick (for Frost) and no Saints bid on Billy, may very well appeal to him. These picks would be ontraded for Shiel and Frost.

If swans would do Parker for #1, surely we'd be close too with #2? Sounds better value than danger for #2 and another decent player as has been mooted. Parkers year was amazing.

If Clark requests a trade to Geelong, then Smedts and M Brown are possible pawns that Cats will offer.

B Graders. They can do better than that. How about Duncan?

If they are wanting in Roos words our equal best player and they see him in their 22, then we should be seeking a player in their 22 or a good pick.

If they gave up Luke Parker, they are entitled to pick 1 IMO. Parker will be a future champion and is an established A grade player at age 22ish.

Parker is probably worth more than pick 1.

Fasolo has denied that he requested a trade via Twitter.

The Barrett strikes again.

Actually not the real Barrett, it's confirmed the rumour started on a fake AFL website where Barrett's name was used.

He's still a tool through.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
