I'd feel like a hypocrite for being so critical of the Sydney COLA to be honest. Surely Melbourne have enough room in the salary cap already?

why? This is exactly the type of assistance we need... The only reason its a big deal with Sydney, is because they have had resent premiership success and yet can still afford a player like buddy?

Personally, I want an even playing field with no advantages to any team.

The extrapolation above is based on a very small sample.

Look at the best 6 clubs and where their best 6 players come from.

36 players - I am interested myself - will look it up when I get home...

Not to get ahead of my data there but The Teenage Lottery Draft of the AFL still allows for great talent to slip through...

This is probably in the wrong thread but:

Haw - Picks 1, 2, 7, 12, 36, Rookie.

Syd - 5, 5, 30, Traded for 39, 40, Rookie

Fre - 4, 8, 19, 20, Rookie, Rookie

Gee - 3, 7, 17, 24, 40, (F/S)

NM - 2, 13, 23, 37, 43, 47

Port - 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13

7 of the 35 applicable were Top 5 selections.

13 of the 35 applicable were Top 10 selections.

20 of the 35 applicable were Top 20 selections.

The value is at the pointy end - if you can pick properly - you don't need to be right at the pointy end...

Dont we still have to convince danger to come?

Paul Roos is a compulsive liar & I love it.

No he's not. Vince, Goodwin, PJ and Mahoney have all spoken to Dangerfield numerous times and Roos has spoken to his manager and his entire extended family.

Sorry HH, I've got nothing. I have no sources, no inside connections and purely a moderate at best sense of humour.

Don't mess with my head, Goodvibes...

Which is it?

Baloney or you've got the inside word?

I thought I was being pretty clear. My initial post was clearly a poor attempt at humour. The quote attributed to Roos suggests that he hasn't personally spoken to Dangerfield. Having endured the Scully, Clark and Frawley sagas it's pretty clear all key footy people are now well versed in double-speak and deception. That's all I was suggesting. I've been on Demonland forever. I don't think I've ever had a source!

All these sudden articles and trading Danger, and now Roosy publicly declaring he wants him, and Danger refusing to comment when asked directly......

It's.... happening?!??

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
