Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Memorial Trophy

I liked the Blazer. Traditional footy club cobber. Makes em look like sportsman rather than Collins St types.

Make a quick trip to the Frankston Savers and you'll be able to get 22 of them for $1.99 ea.

Craig Willis (yes, he's still alive :) )

This bloke is everywhere! Even does the Bank of Melbourne phone banking line!

did he drop the award when he went to take it?

No. No he didn't.

He took the award for being the player making the most effort to promote the club in the community, and is keeping it safe, ready for a suitable occasion to shove it up your [censored].

Some people, it's all about them, and their little princess vendettas, all day long.

Dude.... thats not even funny.

FFS give it a rest.

1%ers i think?

Don't suppose Terlich has won best dressed?

Wow:

Top 3 Leaderboard after Round 17

Lynden Dunn 241

Nathan Jones 231

Bernie Vince 218

Why?

Because this award is the only thing he's likely to win at Melbourne.

I'm so scared he'll get fed up and leave us *sob*

Garry Lyon was there, to select the entertainment.

but i hear he didn't stick around to face the music.

Dunn does drop off towards the end...

But to think he would be in the lead...? And I thought Bernie had a few quiet games in the middle of the season, yet he's ahead of Dom.

Where the [censored] is Dom?

I am happy with the standings just wondering.

Hard to argue he wasn't the best player for us over the year.

No disrespect to Jones but I don't think it is that clear cut. Still think he will win but thought his year was better last year and we had more players who consistently did their job and did it well this year. Dunn would have been in AA squad contention at that point of season. Jetta was rarely beaten all year. T-Mac was rarely beaten aside from the damage he did off his own boot. Tyson's 8-10 best games this year would be the best impact of a mid at Melbourne in many years. Particularly with a new coaching panel its hard to know how they are judged and what is expected. I do find Vince polling so well surprising as I thought he was serviceable but I expected more.

Expect Dom Tyson to poll strongly in the end.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
