Mitch was terrific - but doubt we will see him again - thanks and best wishes to him.

are you suggesting that we come this football discussion website and not discuss football

Foos-ball? Buncha overgrown monsters man-handlin' each other... 'Member when dat man wanted you to play foos-ball, Mitchy?

Just quietly - Sam Landsberger reported on Twitter that Grimes said on Triple M today that Mitch is in a much better head space and wouldn't be surprised to see him play footy again. Don't know if he was talking about playing for us or in general though.

I had to scroll back up to remind myself of the thread title.

Whilst I love a good conspiracy theory and would be beside myself with joy should he return to our forward line next season I really think the only footy Clark will be playing from here on in will be amateurs or country - out of the spotlight.

Should the unlikely occur though and he made his decision by the end of September/early October then we only need to offer him a new contract. Whilst his retirement was effective immediately he is still on the list till the end of the season - we have not yet delisted him. I can't remember the reasoning at the time but the idea was to delist him at the end of the season but having him retire meant that he was not obligated to fulfil his part of the contract... Such as turning up to training and team meetings etc. I'm pretty sure it also meant we did not need to pay him out - although I'm happy to be corrected on this one.

Any Whoo....

Not convinced he will be back after listening, although I am hoping and praying he will be. It is great to hear that he is in a really great space at the moment so good luck to him nonetheless

So Freo practically get a free first round draft player while dees lose one. Nice equalisation.

isnt Mitch back living in Melbourne and avidly supporting the MFC?

i think Melbourne is the only team he'd play for if he did come back

edit - quick look at his twitter, hes living in melb and training hard

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
