Why wasn't Dawes cited?

Recommended Posts

Why wasn't Dawesy up for review after a forearm that broke a blokes ribs after he got rid of the ball?

Deledio got done then got off for an elbow that caused no injury.

We all know about Viney.

What was different about Dawes' hit?

Consistently inconsistent, I'll give 'em that.

The deliberate, wilful and premeditated bodyslam was worse.

I thought the same thing myself.

I keep reading this, but it really wasn't. Georgiou lifted his legs into a weird curled position after the tackle was done for no real reason.

Nothing in it.

Besides, it's Georgiou, you can't hurt him, and he probably slammed Jenkins into himself.

Georgiou was putting all his weight on Jenkins to get him to the ground. No need for Jenkins to pick him up and slam him.

A deliberate and some what dangerous incident that deserved a look at even if the ruling was insufficient force for suspension.

Georgiou getting subbed off may have been related to this unnecessary slam he took.

As for Dawes he was pushing with a forearm in to the side to get a guy out of bounds. That's a legtimate football play not a suspension

He drove him into the ground - he could easily have just untangled himself.

I don't agree. Georgiou was hanging on to Jenkins trying to bring him down. Jenkins then appears to pick Georgiou's legs up and push him down into the ground.

Compare what Jenkins did with what Viney did - which would you prefer to see eradicated from the game?

Neither. The 'slam' was harmless and rarely happens.

A few of you are missing the point anyway.

Point is Dawes contacted someone late with his forearm and broke their ribs.

Viney wouldn't have been up for anything had Lynch not broken his jaw.

Yet one is completely ignored.

Of course I'm happy with what Dawes did and even happier that nothing came of it, the whole system is a joke.

Georgiou should be cited for failure in duty of care when tackling Lynch. The same bul**** reason they gave for the Trengove sling tackle.

Sylvia had his jaw broken - not even looked at....

When it comes to the MRP Melbourne gets treated like carp EVERY FRIGGING TIME......

When we become a better side, it will improve.

Just like the umpiring in our games.

Everyone likes to beat up on the weak kid.

If Viney was a Collingwood player, he wouldn't even of been up at the tribunal.

Jenkins was desperately trying to shake him loose, to prevent being almost instantly asphyxiated.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
