Satan 2,921 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Did the afl also refer Packer and Gyngell directly to the tribunal? It was in sydney , no sydney player gets pinged
RalphiusMaximus 6,112 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 So why hasn't Talia been cited as well? His little push on Watts resulted in a serious back injury that forced Watts from the field and may well see him miss a game. You can clearly see him throw a reckless arm at Watts at about 18:33 in the second quarter.
wattsup 470 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Brereton summed it up perfect on radio, said his intent was the ball made body contact with lynch and who ended up with the ball that's right viney, this will get very very ugly if he cops weeks the media will go nuts
dazzledavey36 56,347 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 This has to be some kind of sick joke..!? If he gets weeks then its official soccer is a tougher sport then footy.
JackVineyForPresident 310 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I think he'll get weeks, it hurts to say it. Despite the fact i thought he turned onto his side to brace himself for contact, i think that you just cant do it.
Damo 3,466 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I think he will get 2 weeks because its politically incorrect to bump hard. Viney has always been the epitome of the hard bump in Juniors. Im glad we won and believe taking Lynch out (legitimately) got us over the line. Unfortunately Jack may be made to pay. I bet nothing would have happened if they got up.
The Song Formerly Known As 6,479 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 We must fight this if he goes.
Whispering_Jack 31,368 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 If he goes for that then we should come out on Saturday night wearing pink tutus.
low flying Robbo 979 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 If he goes for that then we should come out on Saturday night wearing pink tutus. I'll already have a Pink Poncho on
Satan 2,921 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 If he goes for that then we should come out on Saturday night wearing pink tutus. That would confuse the players
Deeoldfart 8,204 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Knowing the lack of logic which typically applies in these cases, I cant help but fear another injustice.
Earl Hood 6,167 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 If the medical report shows Lynch's jaw was most likely broken by Georgiou's head clash, surely that has to be taken into account. Watching it again from several angles on the News tonight you can see Georgiou pushing Lynch forward and down just as Viney is arriving and turning to protect himself or take a hit to his mid section. He didn't come in from the side, they were coming at each other almost head on at high speed. What is he supposed to do in this situation?
Vipercrunch 2,864 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 So are you saying Lynch did not secure possession or that Lynch took possession? Or both? Looks to me in the replay that Lynch bent forward and took possession, had it knocked out in the clash and that Viney ran onto the ball from there. I think Viney possibly could have tackled, but that would have opened him up to being crunched by Lynch, so bracing himself was his only realistic option. Unfortunately the high contact has resulted in a broken jaw, it would appear. I should have reworded he first bit as I focused further into the incident. It was only when the ball sat up on the last bounce did it become clear the Lynch would get to the ball first and have first chance to gather possession. I stand by what I said about Lynch not securing the ball at any stage and there being no where near enough time to attempt a tackle. Even in slow motion the time between the final bounce of the ball making it clear the ball was likely to be gathered by Lynch and the contact was very short.
wattsup 470 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Geez I hope roosy goes nuts on 360 tonight I will chip in for a fine, not that he needs me 2
Older demon 2,828 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I think Georgiou's close proximity to Lynch forces him into Viney and leave son room for escape or to protect himself. It is a different scenario to every other jump bump hit head so far. Maybe going direct to tribunal is in Viney's favour as the Adrian Anderson points system would severely prejudice Viney with the points allocation
4JacksandaKing 52 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 If Viney gets suspended/sanctioned for that I will give up football, demonland, drugs, sex and alcohol. No [censored]! I wonder if Adelaide kicked up a stink. It's the same scenario when Trenners tackled "glass jaw" Dangerfield. Sore losers Adelaide made a big deal, Trenners gets 3 weeks and hasn't been the same since. Dangerfield excels the next round, so much for his concussion as shown on the doctors report. What's with that club.
dee-luded 2,959 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 MFC player - 3 weeks I reckon 2 matches mono... back in time for the TIO Traeger Park game against Port. & following games.
The Song Formerly Known As 6,479 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 we NEED Viney to be available against tbhe dogs. he is killing it at the moment. [censored] joke this is.
