How many games has Tyson played in his career? He plays with a lot of composure and that goal came from not having a panic attack in the heat of the moment.

Can you imagine how good this kid will be after 50 games? Wow!

Cannyou imagine after 100

Viney, Salem, Tyson, JKH. There's the building blocks of a solid core midfield. Throw in Riley and Michie for good measure.

Can't wait to see what Roos does with another trade period or two.

Also think Dom is a jet and future star - just looks a natural footballer. I've heard a lot of people have a crack at his kicking. Think he's a good kick, just needs a couple of decent off-season's to boost his fitness. I've heard Jobe Watson speak at a function where he said his kicking improved when his fitness improved - think the same for Dom - pretty have to be clean when you've knackered and heat rate at maximum.

Occasional he has a bit of a brain fade with his disposal which I expect he will clean up with a bit more experience; seem to remember someone called Sam Mitchell doing the same early in his career.

If indeed he turned out like Mitchell, we should be wrapped.

To have an upcoming midline with Tyson, Salem, Viney,a fit Trengrove, a developing Kent , along with Jones and others will make a greater team for us. We need another couple of TALLS and we are on our way IMO.

I see him as a Jobe Watson type, big bodied midfielder with great hands and footy smarts.

Im so rapt we have finally found a few in Tyson , JKH and Salem to compliment Viney Jones Vince and cross.

Nup - he's far silkier than Watson.

That goal he kicked at the end of the game to me was a sign that this kid will be more than a really good player there was Scott pendelbury written all over it

After 20 games he is playing like a 100 gamer

The closest player-type that I could compare Dom to is Pendelbury.

Just watch how good Dom's hands are in close. He handballs it to where the players need to be, which puts them in a world of space.

I said it last week, players like Toumpas, Salem, Viney and Trengove should become very good friends of Dom's - he will make them famous.

A harder, bigger Dal Santo. Pendlebury is a very high shelf...

Love his attitude and confidence - never rushed, short memory with mistakes, doesn't give the footy away in close.

This kid puzzles me - never see him get the ball - then look at the stats at the end and he has like 30 touches. Think I might watch the game again - going to watch this kid closely next week.

Best thing is the kid has only played 20 games - not even a full season.

I thought that after the first few games as well - it's because most of his possessions seem to occur within packs.

It's always hard to make comparisons but to me he has a bit of Mitchell and Black about him. Neither quick across the ground but very quick hands and work hard in close. He will only get better with more game time and time under Roos and Stone.

Not hard to see why he went at pick 3 a couple of years back

I wonder if that clueless tool Damian Barratt has watched him play yet? [censored] [censored]

GWS could have taken jesus christ himself at pick 2 and we still win the trade

Dom Tyson and Christian Salem, yes please

I wonder how Damian Barrett would have responded to the old Hawthorn line of moving Peter Hudson to CHF if Jesus Christ had come to Hawthorn in the 1970s? Would probably have taken it seriously and argued that Hudson was the better option.

He'll be very good, just really needs to clean up his disposal.

Yep. Sometimes a bit untidy with his disposal. He appears to have a few strings to his bow including nous/smarts - hopefully just a progression in his development. Certainly his hardness in the clinches and reactiveness at stoppages is a huge plus in his overall game.

Rjay, I think his strength is that he doesn't rush his handball. Yes, he can be quick, but he seems to get away with holding on to the ball that split second longer, drawing a player to him to free up a teammate.

I think his errors by hand have more to do with his teammates not being on the same page as him. That will improve the more they play together.

Agree with this, and a few of his teammates are becoming more aware now.

Am i an [censored] for making comparisons to O'meara and Prestia.. i seriously see this kid at his level. HIs numbers would suggest he's basically at that level, maybe Prestia abit better at this stage, not O'meara.

Well, they're very different players, IMO. I think the Watson comparison is apt though. Both lack leg speed, but just keep finding the footy. Black is the other apt comparison. He really is a fantastic compliment to Viney and Jones. You've also got a bloke like Cross who can go into the middle for patches too. It's actually a very tough midfield. It's very Sydneyesque. After another pre season, you'll see more gut running from these boys and that's when we should be expecting 8 to 10 wins.

What's more amazing is his knockers, I doubt many people feel we lost out on that trade with Tyson probably up there with mumford and polec as the recruit of the year and having a genuine impact

and salem showing some very good glimpses

he is only going to get better too, 6-8 years off his prime... how scary is that?

Our midfield, we finally look like we are heading in the right direction. We are quick to forget some quality players on our list, I see most mention Tyson, Viney, Salem, JKH and then throw up Riley and Michie, don't forget about Toumpas he is class and Trengove, this foot injury may be the best thing to happen to him. All these blokes are young under 23 years old, add in Kent that once he gets he increases his running capacity is a ideal wing man

It's exciting really, isn't it? If Tyson, Viney, Salem and JKH keep improving, the thought of Trengove and Toumpas playing under Roos has me salivating TBH. Add Jones and Vince for the next fourish years and Cross in the short term and you have a very exciting group. I hope Roos signs long term. Fingers crossed.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
