Read into it what you will, but anyone else notice Roosy when speaking about whether we focus on opposition teams he said, "ask me 2 years down the track and i may say yeah, but then we'd be 5 years away from Sydney."

Most likely just meaning this year and next year, but hopefully it was perhaps a Freudian Slip and he will be staying longer than the two.

Yes, i realise i may be looking too deeply, i just love the guy and want him to be with us forever.

If it makes you feel better, in a conversation I had with PJ he said, "don't panic Paul isn't going anywhere". That was in response to my question of whether he would be with us for at least 3 years.

he said ask me in 2 years

Hes contracted for 2 years

Confusing thread

it was a tongue in cheek hopeful post, implying that "2 years" meant from today's date which would be into season 2016, meaning he is with us more than the 2 year contract.

Threads not confusing at all for those with hope in their hearts and frowns not upon their faces.

We are all crossing our fingers Roosy stays long term , for sure

Everyone in football knows, Roos most of all, that nobody could turn around this club in a 2 year window. It'll take the best part of this season to get even close to where we were pre-Neeld. There'll be plenty more "games that got away" like GC before this season's over.

Nailed it, the "next coach" is huge.

Its also been floated that he may stay on in a footy operations type role after he hands over the coaching role.

But I think he just meant 'ask me/theclub/whoever is in charge' in 2 years time, as that's when he'd hope this side is able to start focusing on the opposition more so than ourselves.

I would have thought the two go hand in hand. Identifying strengths and weaknesses of you and your opponent.

I love the fact that we have a premiership coach in Roos and he is still seeking advice from Bomber about what he did at the cats and wants to talk to Clarko about what he did at the hawks.

It's a far cry from our previous coach that's for sure.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
