Jack Trengove out for year with navicular fracture

Featured Replies

Yes, let's move on. As Webber has made it clear, the story has been put in the public domain by the person involved and, as long as nothing further of a private nature has been disclosed, there's been no breach of his privacy.

Now back to what this thread was intended to be about ... (if anyone can remember).

If all goes well with Jack, we can look at him as a new recruit with experience next year. He was widely acknowledged as being the 2nd best in his draft and showed talent for us early on.

A full recovery could give us another good player next year. Then we have the Clark money to find another.

If we keep Chip and Jimmy T, Salem, Barry and JKH improve and Hogan is fit, the list is looking ok. Good development, drafting and trading will keep it getting better.

For the first time in a long while I see a future for us.

A win today would also not go astray.

As said peviously JT is no loss at the moment hope he heals quickly and well

I am sure he is getting first class treatment and will repond accordingly

My issue after watching him over his career at the Dees is whether he really has the skills and speed to really make the impact on games that I thought he would when drafted after a standout Under 18 career

ray, you and Moonshadow are in complete and utter ignorance of the privacy details of my anecdote and yet you continue to ply your presumptions with a pedantry which is too often seen on here. You overstate your objections ("we all do") and claim the moral high ground when in fact you're in quicksand. There is no mistake, nor offence, nor breach. If you are not 'comfortable' then that is YOUR issue, not mine.

No moral high ground, no pedantry or ignorance. All I'm stating is I would not feel comfortable if I was the patient.

By the way my poor wording on we all do was not meant to say we all think you made a mistake it was that we all make them. Obviously you don't think so and others including our lawyers don't.

If nev takes his chance and cements his spot it will be like having 2 new players

In all honesty, I read your post as saying we all think Webber made a mistake, without anything causing me to think you have meant something else.

I understand the tone of your post may have been intended to be different, but I think Webber nailed the actual tone that eventuated.

FWIW.

As for JT, I imagine poor form and then his injury has left Trengove on a salary well short of a former captain & pick 2.

Bargain, and more $ in the kitty to chase a decent FA.

Or at least front load contracts, Jesse Hogan.

Poorly written by me 'Machsy' but we move on.

just listened to 3aw's pre-match interview with roos.

he was clear that trengove has been bothered by the foot for 18 months - pain has come and gone over that time, so i would imagine that's been problematic as well in terms of diagnosis.

hopefully he can get it right, have a big pre-season and come back with that initial burst speed around contests and ability to leap at the ball that he had in his first couple of years.

Who cares what Misson says about the success or otherwise of surgery? We've established beyond doubt he is not a doctor...

I'd hazard a guess that he has been informed by the surgeon that it was a success, though.

Agree..

Some of the Matt Burgan/Misson viewing gives you about as much as a stone gives water.

It's like website filler. It's comical.

I love the club, but I find a lot of Matt's articles and interviews just fluff.

I'd hazard a guess that he has been informed by the surgeon that it was a success, though.

So howsabout we get the surgeon on DeeTV?

Can we also 'hazard a guess' that the doctors told him Clark, Dawes and Hogan were all a chance for Round 1, or did he pull that out of his bum as well?

Do we need to see the surgeon? Is he paid to be on dee tv?

The surgery being a success is different to an ESTIMATE of a return date.

Are some people that thick? Or do they just like to complain?

In your case Machsy- both!

Matt Burgan put the headliner 'Trengove's surgery a success' or smething along those lines after having an interview with Misson who's the man who uses the words himself. I'm simply laughing at how he makes an article out of something with such little substance... As I have said, I see it as filler, and to try and give the MFC supporters some positive news.

You're the one trying differentiate the two for some reason.. All I'm laughing at is the amount fluff that's put up on the website concerning these things.

Why was Trengoves surgery a success? Was there a point at which it may have been a disaster?

Steady on Machsy. Have a laugh.

Was it meant to be funny / light humour?

I completely missed that if so.

But presumably it was a success because the procedure was performed with no complications, and the surgeon didn't find that there will be limited blood flow to the navicular, preventing proper healing.

'

The WaPo ain't what it used to be either.

They are not alone WJ

Most newspapers are a shadow of their former selves.

A dieing medium

Think you're wilfully missing the point.

What I said was, I don't care what Misson says about the success or otherwise of surgery.
