How can Mitchie be holding the ball hen he was pushed in th back then laid upon?

Then Schroder drags it in twice and has no intentions of getting rid of it - they ball it up.

toumpas- hit a bloody target. Disgraceful kick.

I would make Toumpas do laps at half time for that

i really don't rate the kid.

48-53 now.

I just don't even comment on him anymore. At all.

What? This would have been 50pts down 6m ago!.....Go the Deees!!!

Holding the ball is going one way only.

dom tyson, what a catch! no one to kick to tho, they flood back with purpose.

he had no one to kick to but he put it into a clever spot for a throw in 20 out

A goal down at half time. I think most of us would have taken that half an hour ago or even before the game. Sounds like they're doing a great job.

half time.

48-53.

great second quarter thanks to two super goals from michie and vince, both of whom have been fantastic. tyson the same, alongside dunn and clisby. cross and terlich trying really hard.

i presume watts was off the ground second half of that quarter, he had one touch.

toumpas, trengove, byrnes no good at all.

Dom Tyson is going to be an absolute superstar, between him and Salem pick 2 was a steal.

Toumpas. That name will haunt me. These turnovers are simply inexcusable. He's gifting Geelong free goals.

Going on past form, I would have taken 8 goals down at half time.

Look, there are some bloody stupid options taken, but they are having a dip, running both ways and it's a freak load better to watch than the shitte we have vomited up the last few years.

Dom Tyson will be a star for us. And I'm not just doing the jinxy pre-season labels we have been destroying players with for years, he will be a dead set star.

Absolutely and so will Hogan.

We're ok, hey we came back. The last few years we would be 10 goals down by now after the way we started.

I agree DA. He is a great kick, but the same can be said for Strauss. Too many brain fades. I doubt he will ever be a top-liner. That particular kick was inexcusable.

Cross, Vince and Tyson were inspired pickups.

They picked the intensity up in that quarter but the main thing that sticks out is there fitness level, they will win more than they lose this year if Dawes , Chip and Garland play consistently , Toumpas has been very disappointing and made some bad decisions, looking forward to Viney playing but it's amazing what guys can do when they respect the man leading them.

Despite his kicking failures, I'm actually liking Terlich's game... he's managed to stop a few incursions. And whats with the #15... is it just me or is Clisby starting to morph into Petterd?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
