always thought trenners was a gravedigger

happy to have him the 22

I'm amazed that a guy like Trengove can be in the system for 4(?) years and still look like he has puppy fat on him. Look at his arms and legs - they are chunky. Hardly toned like an AFL body should be at that point in his career. I asked the same body-related questions about one Cale Morton after years in the system and was assured his skinniness was just part of his "development."
No. That is not development. Cale Morton should never have been so skinny and it's inexcusable that Trengove has the body he does.

Also on his lack of speed/lateral moved - the solution is simple; get a sprint/agility coach. If none is available at the MFC, he should be identifying his own deficiencies and seeking one out in the off season. I understand that Trengove himself, when answering questions about his pace, has mentioned that it's a product of lack of fitness. That's understandable given his injuries. But once he regains this "fitness" he better be addressing his shortfalls ASAP.

All the training posts I have seen so far talk about how good trengove has been looking and one person posts a negative review and the mob goes ballistic. It's a long off season people. Let's wait until game day and judge from there

Sounds like a reasonable idea demonoid!

Not sure you will get far with it though.

Jay KH. Smooth. Runs well and hit targets at will. He is small. I actually really like him. During the full length drill he duffed a kick, ran hard to be an option, got ignored, continued to run, received the ball and kicked a goal around the corner. Hands on knees and looking like he was going to vomit, he noticed the ball from the next drill spill, so he picked up the ball and repeated the same drill. No hesitation. A few of the older players didn't do that when the opportunity presented.

Talent is wonderful, but G&D like that makes me fall in love with a player. There has been far too few players around the club in recent years willing to do that on game day, let alone at training.

Early days sure, but sounds good so far.

Pitt? Is that his name? Has a hitch in his kicking technique which will be difficult to eradicate but he just floats over the turf when he runs up and down the ground.

That was Alex Georgiou, JJJ, he's often mistaken for Brad Pitt.

sadly I know you are right

I think I'll wait until I see Trengove in some preseason matches before I get overly concerned by training reviews.

Yes me too

training is like dancing with your sister.

You could put Roos out of a job with those simple solutions.

On Morton - some players just cant put on bulk - its that simple

On speed and agility - if it was only that easy that getting a sprint/agility coach would fix the problems.

Agree, here's hoping he steps up.

Good idea.

All I can say in reply to the above post is that you come across as completely ignorant.

All you need to do is look at the photo MFC put up on Instagram this morning, and you can see that your "puppy fat" claims on Trengove are erroneous.

Maybe get a clue before mouthing off?

Trenners will meditate his way to lateral speed and top end pace.

This post shows me your complete lack of understanding of the human body. Your guessing of the top of your head which means your post is complete rubbish.

See that puppy fat fly. pfftt. Guess Nate must be fat as well then, pretty much has the same build as Trenners

I think Trengoves problem is very clear and common and one I face myself. He recorded a 2.97 20m run which is quick. He has burst leg speed and I'd love to see his stats in the first 5 minutes of every quarter compared to the rest of the quarter. I think his problems would be clear if only I could find his repeat sprint stat. Endurance is one thing, Sprints are another but the ability to run maximally, stop, run max, jog, run max is incredibly difficult. Short distance endurance as it's known is very unnatural for some, and long sessions are required to teach it. It's why the repeat 2-300ms are popular at training. That doesn't help a player run out a whole game, it forces them how to run after a run after a run.

Jack clearly has no endurance for 2nd, 3rd high intensity efforts. His sister shows in the gene pool, they have the ability to run and run and run at one tempo all day, just maybe not when the intensity lifts.

Jack if you're reading this, twice a week cones at 10,20,30,40,50,60 than back down 50,40,30,20,10 with 8 seconds break between runs. Have 6 minute break and repeat 4 times. By the end of the preseason, he'd be in tip top shape.

Not sure who Pitt is supposed to be? Harmes, Max King? Interesting about Nicho I can't understand how full time footballers can not learn to kick a ball accurately over say 25 to 30 metres! I agree it is a real skill to deliver a ball over 50 meters to a target but 25!

Max King I suspect. He looks like a tall lanky boy, but takes amazing pack marks and kicks with ease 60m spot on.

I think the find, and smokey of the draft. But looks like he should still be playing schoolboy footy - albeit at extreme elite level.

That's just hard to look at...

Jimmy Toumpas is a blimp and Nate Jones looks like he ate Allen Jakovich.

I'm not so sure, I reckon he'd be wasted after the first 2 or 3 cones of the first session

haha
