Jordie McKenzie

I was there in the thread when he threw an obvious round-arm strike to the head of an opponent in the days leading up to Round 1.

I knew it was only a matter of time before the MRP would review the incident and give him a spell on the sidelines.

no good behaviour discount either. in fact a loading most likely

Not his best game but he kept Gibbs to no real damaging impact and got some ball himself. One Jordie moment where he set Jones up to fail with a one-two but also Jones' fault for calling for it back when it was telegraphed. Just needs more poise and understanding with his disposal more than anything.

A nice mark 40m out from a kick in, wheel and hit up of Frawley who then went on to Dawes which was the play that kick started us in the game I believe.

McKenzie in the side freed up Cross to hunt the ball which in turn let Jones play his role on Murphy. Not a bad plan.

Ablett awaits and the week after taggers got put back in the spot light which doesn't help. Under 30 and 2 goals is a good job on Ablett. Hope a good blow out first game back in the side helps McKenzie's match fitness, he's always a guy who improves with more match fitness.

Roos mentioned he was considering Jones on Ablett. If anyone can shut him down, Jones can. Shut down Ablett, you shut down the Suns.

No. If anyone can shut him down, Jordie can.

It's crap like in this thread that remind me we two have many delusional supporters. Jordies intent rubs off on the rest if the group ! He's a tackling machine. He makes the team better.

Said perfectly.

Ok, I'm a Demonland reader and believer and have only ever posted once before. Every night I log onto Demonland to get my daily fix and every time I do I can't help but get peeved at the photo on the far right of the header. Whilst I admire his tenacity and hard work, if we are to succeeded as a football side, JM can not be in our best 25 players.

I'm hoping he doesn't get a game next year, which would mean others have gone past him.

Even if you don't agree with everything I am saying, you must admit that he surely doesn't deserve to sit alongside Roos, Jones, Frawley and Clarke on the Demonland front page.

He does his job, Definitely not a star. Often looks a bit unco and kind of 'harassed'. But he does his job.

On the one hand, there's room for improvement. On the other hand, there's room for improvement.

I get that you don't rate him as a player, but seems a lot of trouble to go to, starting a thread just to insult him.

I thought his disposal in the main looked better.

I have always maintained that if you have players that are drilled and run to good positions it makes the job of disposal a little easier as you are not continually second guessing as to where you think your teamate is going to go and can concentrate purely on delivering.

If it is kept simple for Jordie he will be ok.

As you can see I proudly wear the number 13 on my back so I guess I am biased. Every player has a roll, whether you are chip or Bail, spencer or Jordie. Jordie carries out his role better than anybody else in the team can.

We expect the players to improve under Roos but doom Jordie to every lasting fire and brimstone. He will naturally improve as the midfield around him improves, more run and confidence to get the ball out to.

Could Watts do his job? NO because it isn't his role, each to his own. And finally if every MFC player tried as hard as Jordie does all the time we wouldn't be taking our holidays in September we would be watching our boys run round the G.

My avatair photo was taken in September, anough said.

Jordie has been 'freed' up in a sense. With a decent midfield Jordie can be a much better player. It was pretty much he and Jones and they took a lot of punishment.

His possessions were always under huge presssure and not always good. A bit less pressure on him now. I watched him closely and he beat Gibbs hands down. Gibbs had a few possessions but was ineffective. Their midfield without Murphy or Gibbs is pretty poor so we shut them down effectively.

Jordie's task now is to hurt them like Jones did to Murphy. Doesn't have the same talent but can still be a key player for us.

After one win Jordie enjoys stardom status. I'll say it again, Pendles , Kennedy, Watson, Ablett, Barlow , Selwood can rack up huge numbers and still manage more tackles then a player who's primary role is a stopper. We know he tries but he is not the tackling machine some on here would have you believe. He's never going to be better than an average player. Bring Trengove back in and give him McKenzies role against Ablett. At least he might hurt them going the other way.

Jordie carrys out his role better than anyone else in the team?

I can only hope the coaches don't share your view.

Yep I fully agree. In time he will find himself on the outer as he doesn't offer any flexibility ;)

He can get a game while others are being made to find form but if all mids are fit and in form he shouldn't be playing.

Unless of course he improves under Roos like we are hoping most will ?

I did notice an improvement in his disposal on Saturday which at times has made him a liability.

I hope he does improve, I hope everyone improves, but I think some are kidding themselves on here. Yes it was a good win considering how we have been travelling. But we are still way of the pace and I think when Trengove returns he should be tried in a tagging role, in place of McKenzie. It couldn't hurt. He would be more damaging going the other way. Making opposition stars more accountable.

All players need to tackle and not let the opposition dispose of the ball, if they are able to the tackle is useless.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
