Dean Bailey Diagnosed With Cancer

sorry mate, you are not entirely correct there, there is no evidence of stress being 'directly' linked to cancer, but stress does cause people to smoke or generally be unhealthy that could cause cancer, but either way, it's terrible news for Bails and his family. the Demon family should all show our support for the man.

Google "stress and cancer" and read plenty.

And Genetics, diet, behaviour and environment don't?

Of course they do.

I'm not trying to be clever or stupid chook.

Only demonland could turn a get well thread in to an argument.

Not my intention.

I wish him all the best and won't debate further.

I must say McQueen it is the first thing that popped into my head also... not just the tanking saga but just being under heaps of pressure when coaching us, everyone on his back, getting smashed, ultimately 186 and shown the door.. can't be good for anyone's health. Bloody awful news, all the best to him.

It is pointless to speculate about what might have caused any one cancer. Plenty of people who have never smoked for example, develop cancers associated with smoking.

We all wish Bails the best for his recovery. Let's just hope for that.

Shocking news, best wishes for a speedy recovery Dean.

All the best to him and his family.

I've said it before, but junction oval needs to be investigated, the amount of mfc associated staff diagnosed with cancer seems, to me, abnormally high.

What? Cancer is directly related to stress.

The tanking saga reignited by Anderson would've played a huge part on his condition.

I wish him all the very best and hope he is able to fight this thing into remission and beyond.

Rubbish news. Love Bails as a bloke.

Has a family, hopefully he gets through.

Why don't we just let this thread be a best wishes thread.

Get well Bails.

Agree 100%. No pontificating and no arguing.

Praying you win your fight Bails. All the best for you and your family.

Very bad news for Dean and his family.

All the best from all true Demon fans, in fact all true humans.

Get well mate.

All the best Dean.

Google "stress and cancer" and read plenty.

good old google, not going to get in an argument on a thread about this terrible news, i work as a specialist in cancer, and the one of the most important things is to have a positive mindset and Bails seems like that kind of a man, i put my money on him to beat it.

Very sad to hear! This bloke has really been through it the past few years. He doesn't deserve this on top! Sure hope he makes a speedy and full recovery!

No offence Pal, but in an anonymous forum like this I'll take Googles credentials over yours.

Horrible news. Tough bloke who will get through it.

Couldn't help yourself McQueen, I get it, ,.............. good luck Bails.

hope the treatment goes well bails and you beat it

we'll be rooting for you

you'll always be one of us

All the best Bails!!!!!!!!

This guy could actually coach and had us borderline finals 8 team leading into the 186 disaster

Then Schwab and all the closed door factions bickering went up a gear and it went pear shaped

I like Dean Bailey!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
