New Major Sponsor: Automotive Holdings Group (AHG)

Not sure on the specifics of the Fujitsu deal

Was probably around a couple million bucks over 2-3 years

Apparently it was between us and the bombers, and although they were favouring us more so than the bombers due to the appointment of Roosy, apparently one of the guys on the bombers board struck a deal with Fujitsu by allowing them to have the contract for a new set of apartment buildings if they sponsored the bombers

Well thats what I heard anyway from a dees fan who pretty much runs the WA Fujitsu chain

Doesn't matter now anyway, AHG are signing on!

cheer up hoody, they'd still be selling cars wouldn't they wherever they were made

Things are definitely looking up if we have indeed managed to pull in a major sponsor.

Happy too that it's a stable company with local roots rather than an off shore crowd who might not deliver loyalty for loyalty as has happened in the past.

If we can secure our financial position and show a healthy balance sheet, we can get back to the core business of winning games of footy.

Might see the players with their new training jumpers tomorrow.

..something I threw together recently on basis of rumours.....we'll see

Looks good to me BB.

a little goes a long way apparently

He'll go however far he has to and do whatever it takes, it's what he's always done.

Does this mean Tubby gets the Khyber and Jobe (or Jim-Bob) takes over as front man.

Minus the collar and stars too. ;)

Can't be the signing of a senior assistant coach, could it?

Good suggestion. They would have both PJ and PR at such an announcement.

My prediction? Michael Voss. I think he would develop hugely with 3 years under PR - he certainly has the killer instinct - whether he has the brains or not I'm not sure. He would be the AFL equivalent of Kevin Muscat, and the jury is well and truly out on him.

Some posts leave me even speachless !

Do we know if the boss of this AHG posts stuff on Facebook?

Pretty Sure Bronte HOWSON is President or CEO of AHG and he is also the President of the WAFL club East Perth. Arch Rival to the Red & Blue of West Perth. I think HOWSON will have some close links with Glen Bartlett

You've been around too long to get caught up in all this corporate BS

Hows that little wacker from Swan Districts going ?

Would be great if it was a double whammy

1 dees get big sponsorship

2 dees re-sign JF

Now that would be a good start to a Monday.

Don't think it will happen but hey I can dream can't I?

Hearing Citibank are close. Maybe not today's announcement but stay tuned.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time.
