Facts is what i am interested in, Magner's ego took a kicking and he vented, I don't blame him, he was putting good performances in at Casey and wasn't picked, ask Jeremy Laidler about that, but coaches don't play certain players for a myriad of reasons, this is all history, it's gone, move on.

I don't mind opinions as long as that is what they are, so you must lead with "in my opinion the club is [censored]", not the sister's uncle who is good friends with the barman who serves the drinks at the Bentleigh Club told me that the players are not happy.....so the club must be [censored]

I am looking forward to a new season, I am biased I wear nr 39 on my jumper, hopefully Nev will get a rookie spot

And I will repeat what I put last season..........I don't care what other posters think of me or my credibility.....I don't need anybody's approval

I am always happy to get good training reports and info where u can get it.

Keep it comng.

It's because he thinks that because he attends training and chats to the players, he's one of the boys and knows all the issues going on at the club. In his mind, if he hadn't heard it, it mustn't have happened.

I wouldn't normally like to criticise people who go out of their way to report on things (like training) that I have no access to, but the poster you're responding to is completely deluded about his place in the world.

A rather strange choice of words there Nasher from somebody who admonishes other posters, you do tend to go out of your way to criticise by the way......... I know exactly what I am, I am a keyboard warrior who posts on a footy board like everybody else on here.............footy, 44 grown men chasing an inflated piece of leather and rubber around a field....I just don't like twaddle...........as long as you think that is the only contact I have with the Club that is cool

most players NOT getting a game are usually upset and bag somebody

Ummm no...

Laidler is a perfect example - he said that he thought he was doing well in the VFL but he wasnt in Malthouse's plans - compare that with Magner who talked about lack of communication and contradictory messages coming from coaches. There is a stark difference. Happy to move on as long as we are objective about our past and don't try and rewrite a history ( a sad history).

I think there has been plenty of comment and pointers to disfunction under Neeld and Magners comment's were not only about being disgruntled that he didnt get a game but was also adding further fuel to existing opinion regarding communications. You only had to watch our performances onfield to see the disconnect.

With Jetta delisted does that mean we now have zero games of experience with indigenous players on our current list? When was the last time that happened at Melbourne?

The club should not recruit indigenous players for the sake of it, but I suspect we'd be a better balanced team if we had some of the obvious talent available from players with that background.

except for the fact that the last 5 or 6 in a row have been dismal failures

That's right, I very much appreciate your training reports, with work and uni the times don't match up well for me so I never get to go, but like all things there's nothing wrong with having differing views. I like that you have a relationship with most players, I have an incredibly close relationship with a couple myself and it's better than hearing it from the Baker's wife. I have no incentive to tell anything but the truth to the forum.

If we don't accept and acknowledge our past failings, it's too easy to let it occur again. In this day and age of social media, everyone gets their say. Club officials check these sites and supporter disharmony had alot to do with Mark leaving, funnily enough very rarely do club employees see the writing on the wall before the supporters! Once the supporter forums put out the concept there is a finite amount of time the coach has left and it occurs in every sport.

We as a whole need to inspire the club to not settle for the number 1 pick in the draft, to not settle for below satisfactory development and not settle for the poor and absent coaching of our lesser players.

Just because I love the MFC, doesn't mean I agree with the atrocious decisions to train fitness all summer with little to no ball control work. It showed all year last year. I dint agree with not meriting good performances in the VFL, and not punishing poor performances from Messrs Watts, Trengove et cetera.

I love your optimism and hope it never stops but I won't be the same sucker who believed Schwabs Chinese sponsorship deal or Neelds plan to be the toughest team to play against. I've learnt my lesson.

Re the rookies and lesser players not getting a fair go under Neeld.

Remember when it was suggested that Newton was progressing well and Daniher said "who is he". or words to that effect.

Yes I agree with you, but we move on, to keep revisiting the same old thing gets boring, yes we all learn but we have new people in place, who knows if they are doing the right thing I don't continually go back and wonder how and why my first marriage failed, I celebrate that my second relationship has lasted 25 years and counting........the kings of hindsight on here I find tiresome, we are supposedly discussing why Nev Jetta may get a rookie spot and you can put your opinion on that, starting the post with "in my opinion....

Of course we can respectfully discuss the past. We can discuss the failures of the past few years without being Kings of Hindsight.

My god man, what do you do when things turn to shite? You find out what went wrong and try to improve.

It's like the discussion about Schwab and the previous Board - you can respectfully discuss and dissect the failures.

And depsite "how well they trained" the failures of man-management under Neeld went beyond 'too much running.'

Others claimed knowledge of Frawley being unhappy, I know that Rookies were not treated the same as those on the Primary List (and another level again when one of the 'more important players' were involved) - surely the fact that what you reported on here under Neeld being completely torn apart by reality has given you food for thought?

To be fair to Saty, he quoted something that Stark said to him. You then challenged that by stating that Stark wouldn't tell an unkown supporter everything. You then claim to know more than Saty about how Stark was treated, then when Stay questioned your source, or why what you have been told is more reliable than what he was told, you've avoided it.

He's asking a basic question (albeit in a complicated fashion) - why/what/who is your source and/or what is the information you have, and why is it more factual than what he was told directly from the player in question.

It's a fair question to ask, but unfortunately as he didn't get an answer from you, he's carrying on.

It's a football forum; of course it's everyone's opinion.

It's like you're worried everyone that reads it is foolish enough to believe everything posted here.

Your dedication is commendable, and at a local footy club, your type is what makes a club tick, but at AFL level, it comes off as embarrassing fanboy behaviour. Whether that's right or wrong is immaterial.

You say you don't care what others think, but your posting belies that stance.

The annoying thing is that you consistently interrupt interesting discussion.

Maybe you need to consider taking a bit of a step back, letting others fight the good fight, or consider whether it's worth fighting in the first place? Maybe you're fighting against yourself?

From the outside it looks unhealthy, in any case.

It's public knowledge now that Magner was pi55ed with the club & said as such to the herald sun about how he was handled last year by Neeld & the coaches. If it happened to Magner I'm sure he wasn't the only one.

There were a lot more than Magner 'disenchanted' last season. I'll say most were.

It's a bit of Jekkyl and Hyde when asking. During the year you will get the politically correct response as to how they are feeling and what they are thinking (just trying to improve, be competitive, win quarters, learn the coaches game plan bullcrap).

As the end of the season, away from the cameras, having a few beers is when people really let loose, paints an awful picture of some non playing staff. On one hand what I have heard and seen I struggle not to be frustrated as a supporter and member of this great club but on the other and talking with a couple from the group you would not see a more excited group going into this season under Roosy.

But, moving on.....

Nev, yes he can lay a tackle but that's it. Likes to bump people late which isn't tough.

Would much rather take a punt on someone then give him another run but still wish him all the best.

The inference that he is a supporter at training and will get equivalent information as a 'good source,' and if you trust me you will take it as impeccable, is ridiculous.

No need to carry on RP, I was stating what the original issue with Saty was about, for those that couldn't be bothered reading through the umpteen nothing posts.

But, look where we are coming from - Saty goes to training, volunteers for the club, and would be at the opening of a fridge door if it were a MFC fridge. You live in Canberra. I think some would be excused if they took both opinions with a grain of salt.

Would've got rid of Nicholson before Jetta.

Can anyone confirm Nicholson's contract status?

His contract is finished I believe

What? None of them were top 20 selections, at no point has it been appropriate to use any of our top20 picks on them because there were better players available. I don't know why you would recommend we focus on drafting from a specific group that has brought a very poor return recently. Now I'll probably be called a racist I imagine, go ahead.

That's EXACTLY my point. None of them were high picks, so why place a higher emphasis on their success than other lower picks?

Who said I thought we should focus on drafting from a specific group? I think it's stupid to label a race as not desirable based on a few players who underachieved while part of the worst development and culture in the AFL. Plenty of other players didn't make it, why single out the indigenous boys?

Like I said, Gysberts and Cook are both Victorians, so should we avoid Victorians in the draft too? That seems to be your logic...

I tend to agree with you stuie.

Race, colour or location seems to have made no difference to our selections.

WE had the wonderful ability to choice very average players no matter what.

Surely taking Bennell and Jetta at 35 and 51 was better for us than Gysberts and Cook at 11 and 12....

Better not draft any of those Victorians.
