I hate hearing commentators constantly comparing sons of players to their fathers. I hope Jack continues in the number 7 and give 12 to an upcoming exciting recruit (from trade or draft).

If Cameron Schwab was still around you could bet your first born child on it happening.

He will likely have it offered to him in good faith (not persuaded), whether he chooses to accept it is the question.

Todd and Jack strike me as the kind of people that consider performance and output as the highest regard, not necessarily club history and tradition (don't take in a negative way). I can only guess that Todd will tell Jack to make his own path in his own number.

Either way I will be just happy watching Jack run around in the red and blue.

Jack has the tools to be a better player than Todd was. I hope he chooses to create his own history, therefore improving the legacy rather than continuing it.

Though CS probably wouldn't have cared as much as Todd wasn't from the 1950's but you know he would be busting at the seams to get Jack in Todd's number.

I don't think that will be an issue going forward. It seems like the club is now more interested in actually winning games now than celebrating what happened decades ago. And Jack is a fairly strong character.
