Apparently he was meant to be on this morning. Interested to hear what he had to say. Venom for Roos, swans acadamey, stone to dees. If anyone listened and can fill in that would be great

Posted

Said he had tried several times to contact Roos by phone. Said Roos was a legend and that could not be undone. Said he wanted to patch things up. Neglected to say that Roos required an apology on the Swans site. Bad line cut into interview. When he got back on it was time to cut to the news. Spent a fair amount of time bumbling over words before getting cut off.

As I heard it, he said he had tried to contact PR in various ways, phone, text and email and had not had a response. It seemed to me that he considers the ball to be PR's court now to respond. Colless also said the article concerned, penned by Cordy, had taken one comment out of context and that Roos' reputation would be tarnished if Roos did try to lure players from the Swans Academy.

Really did seem like he was bumbling though, as quoted above.

I heard RC a week ago and I thought that was a rambling interview.

Left me wondering how this guy could be the Chief at Sydney.

He is retiring from the Swans.

Is there a problem we don't know about?

Caro described Roos as a "plunderer" . Surely this award -winning journalist isn't prone to exaggeration ?

I read her article about Roos with bile rising the other day. The wording was ridiculous and over the top, there was no need for the tone of that article at all. Hidden agenda against MFC Caro?

This is why I have so much respect for Roos, he is an Ozzie OG.

Barry Hall still basically cries that Roos ignores him, now Roos is screening Collo's calls.

Roos' action speak for themselves, he gets results without even muttering a word - because he has RESPECT.

Our list will play for Roos, they wouldn't play for Neeld because he'd done nothing to earn the respect from the group.

Probably that we got over compensated for Tom Scully.

Don't worry, she'll find something.

Roos will change the players perception, so at least they won't read Caro.

On a personal note though, I think it's pretty pathetic we have media commenting on football related issues - considering most of them have never even played.

I guess that is just the world we live in these days, people don't really need qualifications - so long as they are front and centre and getting a headline.

I momentarily feel anger witch is then replaced with this new found confidence and now I just laugh at the old which.

You don't have to have played the game to cover it. I really hate this attitude. There'd be significantly fewer people that could be journalists otherwise and places like Demonland would cease to exist.

sorry, but so many of ex footballers have helped to wreck the game, with over analysis & stats. & self importance. they've stolen the innocence & simplicity that delivered so much unbridled spontaneous pleasure... fun. long live the fun

one of the best non players Mike Williamson. Oh,,,,, what a beauty.

Then there is Mark Robinson. Gutter journalism. Pub-talk. Thinks he can summarise everything in a question that probably doesn't need answering anyway.

How this guy is so prominent for the Herald Sun & Fox is beyond me. The worst of the worst.

And most bloggers and supporters have a go at Caroline Wilson! She has a brain and can string 2 words together. He is all rhetoric and bluff and adds zero.

I agree. Listening to Robbo is like you're stuck at the bar listening to a drucken bum ramble on and slurring his words.

However, still can't stand Caro and her bias opinions.

I don't mind Robbo's yobbo style but it's the content (or lack thereof) of what he says that stamps him as an average journo. Still, the chemistry of the mix between him and Gerard Whateley provides the entertainment. The pair work sometimes but they've really been exposed on substantive issues like the Essendon peptides saga. The Age team (including Wilson) led by their investigative journos Baker and McKenzie (who mainly do crime) with input from Roy Masters of the SMH, completely exposed the HUN and its chief football writer Robbo.

Caro just doesn't cover herself in glory when she uses her journalism to further her own personal crusades and conversely, when she appears to be the megaphone for the Richmond Football Club.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
