The new policy of allowing only positive comments is just bizarre. Let's say for example that in 2014 Melbourne got flogged on the field and lost by 186 points (yes, we know it's happened before). So are they saying supporters shouldn't express their feelings and criticisms of what happened on the day? That people posting about that match should only post positive comments? The reason why people sign up to these sites is so that they can express their view freely. Sure, some of the criticism is over the top but a lot of it is valid. There's a diversity of views, that's the real value of these sites.

Judee sits in front of me at the football and you would never meet a more genuine person; she it totally devoted to the club and would never knowingly try to cause it, or the supporters, any harm.

I cannot believe that she would be aware of the issues behind this, Judee would be appalled at the behaviour of some on the site over the last few years, and it has been vey ordinary, she may have been suckered in to believing that this is for the club and in the best interests of the club.

Of it was Judee and Geoff, I would have had no problem.

The fact they are involved with Dr Who, the biggest troll in the two sites history and his brother (the one who denied that they were related when first confronted) is the problem. These two have shown by their own actions that they will do and say anything to get what they want. They have hoodwinked many people and are now hurting not just the site but the club as well

I got an email from Graham Smith and he is going to call me when I get back to Australia to let me know what's going on. I'll be back in a week so I'll post any news I hear from him or he may do it direct or perhaps contact someone else.

What a clusterfunk that site squabble has become!

I used to post there but forgot my login and that therefore became the end of my interest in it.

At least the header page no longer has us playing Hawthorn then the dogs!

Someone just email the herald-sun..

They love quasi-news stories, and will bring attention to this strange situation.

If WE can track these people down, they'll have [censored] grabs in an article before print tomorrow morning.

Honestly don't see what the big deal is here....

'Ology has been struggling for a long time, looks like it's finally died.

Why would the club care? Just like any other internet dodgyness, just avoid it.

Are you reading this?

This ceased being an Ology problem when an official volunteer program of the MFC was found to be behind this.

I don't know where this will lead but the equation involves idiots, the Internet, and the actual MFC.

Not a good mix.

Ah well, so it's dead and gone then. Move on I say. Wouldn't have thought so many would cry over it.

I wouldn't be so dismissive. As rpfc says there is a concerning mix of people and entities involved in this, club volunteers and one of the protagonists appears to wish to make $$$ though on-line activities. Demonology might have been a busted arse for a while but it has been used to recruit volunteers to the club and if people are seeking to make profit for themselves off the back of it then there is a serious breakdown occurring.

Little stuie doesn't get it. But that's not new. Someone is using the MFC to support their own means and those kind of shenanigons aren't on.

GS knows who has spoke with him - funniest thing is that person also questions the logic of moving forward. He questions the paranoia of some around here.

But we have put the offer out there in an attempt to reach Tim. All in good faith.

He has just informed me in a deleted thread and spruiked elsewhere that Tim contacted him.

Just goes to show the man is a liar and a conman and the MFC are dealing with him??????

Takes the gloss off what the MFC has achieved in the last few weeks.

Post 1 of that thread Skills 32.

"Surely, nobody at the MFC could seriously take any online forum seriously - sure you might read it but thats where it would stop." quote from the doc/31.

Why with such a strict censorship now then?

I care about Ology as much as anyone. But if you think anyone other than a few hundred footy nerds gives an Emmanuel Petit about this, you're mistaken.

It's an internet forum. I think people are overestimating it's significance and "power". You don't start making money out of the internet because you say you want to....

I understand the sentimentality, I just don't understand all the rah rah rah.

For many its more about privacy and security. People with questionable motives having access to club data through membership services and now more person data such as passwords.

hangon007/Dr Who/Rassilonthirty-one has taken over control of the site, when he is both a psychopath and a mental dwarf (not a good mix). He's widely considered a blocker to sensible discussion across both sites. Furthermore, there's a lot of doubt over his motivation due to his ties with official volunteers at the MFC, and he has stated a couple of times now that he intends to use the site for money raising purposes, and has been caught out on a number of lies in the mean time.

Ok. Got it.

Soooooo delete your details if you can, if not, report them to the ombudsman.

Just seems to be a lot of overly dramatic reactions about the whole thing.

The rah rah comes from the fact that the previous owner of Demonology has been unwell and may have been duped. It comes from the fact that 'ology (like 'land) is a community and that someone may have hijacked it for personal purposes/gain inclusive of its members personal details. I comes from the fact that many posters there have spent a decade discussing the MFC, donating to it and volunteering for it but that legacy is now owned by a person(s) with an unknown agenda which they will not state?

Demonology has gone into shifty hands, not the MFC. Again, I think people are overstating it's importance and influence.

I honestly understand the sentiment, people feel emotionally invested in these kinds of forums about things we're as passionate about as footy.

But the internet isn't the wild west, there are regulators (actually, even the wild wild west had those). It's a shame it's been all but destroyed, but honestly, it's only an internet forum not the club itself.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
