So a 4 year 2mil deal tabl;ed! Thoughts?

Yep.

None printable though.

I was told today we had offered him $500,000 pa over 4 years. Announced on radio. Is it just a roomer?

A roomer?? LOL

Where does this 4 yr $2mil offer come from? Who mentioned this offer, because the only place I have seen it stated was in your other post at the top of the page. Am I missing something?

Yeah.

You should disregard just about everything he says.

You obviously don't listen to 7 news!

It appears very unlikely we will get Adams so MFC trying to restrict the damage and get Shaw and pick 10 but pick 2 will go to Pies. Or are we just upping his price so GWS has to pay more?

Haha pick 2 for a 28yo with mental issues who plays as a rebounding defender not a midfielder, no thanks. Even getting pick 10 back is ridiculous, pretty sure the only reason they've stated this is because their preferred deal is to get Adams from GWS in a straight swap, maybe with pick 10 going back to the Giants. If we're going to blow pick 2 would rather go after Dusty, at least he's got plenty of years left in the legs.

IMO gold coast suns will get very heavily involved in the race for Shaw and more than likely land him, Bluey McKenna has past connections to Shaw and Collingwood, they have stated publicly they will be in the market for an experienced hard running half back who has played serious finals before.

Heath Shaw fits the bill perfectly and they have plenty of trade options to get the deal done.

Shaw is not worth a top ten pick. Pies are keen to offload him, frees up cap space and removes what they consider to be a distraction. Clubs should play hardball with them. If pick 2 goes to the pies it's only because Beams is coming to us.

Correct... and even if I did, living in Sydney means that I wouldn't get that little snippet anyway.

So there's two of us in Sydney? Nice to know I'm not alone.

So there's two of us in Sydney? Nice to know I'm not alone.

I think there are a few of us actually AD... I'm pretty sure that Ron Burgundy and possibly Sue(?) are both up here as well as well as some others. Where in Sydney are you (I'm in Dulwich Hill)?

Tony Shaw mentioned on 3AW that he may be headed down the highway to Geelong. I guess we won't know who we are after until we know what the Roos philosophy is, bring on young talent or try and infuse older with young.

Personally I'd like Shaw and Chapman but that may mean denying two young kids the opportunity of developing with the side and may come back to bite us later on.

This and the very good chance that we become more competitive and actually begin to win games, thereby creating that winning culture we so badly lack.

Catch 22.

Shaw will go to the Suns I reckon, a lot of trade stuff seems to be aligning that way.

And it looks as though MFC are playing a very good trade game. Go hard for Shaw without any attempt to really land him, possibly to draw attention away and price down on some other player.

Shaw is not worth $500K + pick 2, nor $500K + pick 10. He is a good, almost great back flanker but we should be paying this $ for midfielders and/or A graders.

I have skipped a bit on this thread.

But an acquaintance of mine friend a dyed in the wool pies man.

Told me that the problem with Shaw is he suffers from ADHD. The medication required to stabilise his condition

is a banned substance.

Any clues. When was coke banned?

Didn't Alistair Lynch get some special deal or approval for taking a banned drug due to CFS? Not sure. Nevertheless, Shaw has been taking ADHD drugs for many years, so this is not correct Chippy. I have contact with an ex of his and I can confirm that he is a bit of a loose cannon in terms of discipline and control, especially when he is off the meds.

Im in Cronulla mate, moved from Melbourne four years ago for work. Been in the shire for two of them. When the Dees play up next year we should organise something if your keen? I only made it to about 4 games in Melbourne this year.

Sounds good to me... also, did you know that the Sydney Demons group meet at the Camelia Grove Hotel in Alexandria (a few minutes walk from Erskinville Station) each weekend to watch the games? I've only been along the one time due to family commitments, but it's an enjoyable afternoon and a nice bunch of people.

Gee. Not often do people claim watching Melbourne games makes for "an enjoyable afternoon".

Hah! I was thinking more of the beerage and genial company.

We're after quality and impacting mids.. #2 will ONLY be used for that.

Dale Kerrigan has some advice for the Filth !!

There will be a lot of real damage if we gift pick 2 to the Pies.

Yeah Shaw plus pick 10 for pick 2 is yuck. We get a slightly better but much older half back flanker than Terlich, Clisby, Strauss and Grimes and lose our shot at a midfield star.

Pick 2 should only be for elite/semi elite but perfect in other category types like Sloane, S.Selwood, D. Swallow.

Plus one.

now back on shaw its clear we think only 3 or 4 players are worth anything like pick 2 so its not shaw.

I wasn't aware, cheers. I work away a lot so I'm often catching games on fox in country pubs. Next season I will send you a PM so we can organise something, cheers.

Last time I looked this site was mainly about conjecture!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
