So this is now our second-highest tally ever. It really needs to be curving up every single year though. Hopefully we can finish the season strongly, have another excellent off-season and crack 40,000 next season. I can't just keep having children to boost membership figures.

All things being equal we really should break through 40k next year and set the base to work towards 50k by 2016/17 which if sustainable will go a long way to consolidate our position off-field.

Re Jesse - agree stay low key about him - just ease him into footy and see how things go from there.

Bit puzzled about James Frawley being in the promotion given the uncertainty re his future - or does the Club think that may play a small part in swaying him to stay - [censored] his conscience??? But I think he is already going.

Anyway membership numbers for next year are the top priority at the minute - hopefully the team can snag the odd win to keep young Demons fans interested - imperative - they are the Club's future supporter base.

Top brain fade by Vickery last nite - good one Tyrone.

Aussie Rules is crap in the wet like last night - better watching the Storm smash the Broncos.

I wonder if I can claim my Membership as a charitable donation. I'm contributing to those less fortunate then others and they're definitely not a profitable organisation...

Been my contention for years !! ATO probably won't see it that way :(

don't need to argue whether the mfc is a not for profit org, i understand it actually is

you would need to convince the tax commissioner that your membership fees were in fact a donation in that you don't receive anything of value in return

now would that be hard?

tell me, will you be defending your mr romsey hayseed of the year 2014 title next year?

No. Now that I my gym work is starting to pay dividends ( I have lost 750gm) and I am showing some delightful muscle definition, I think a body building title is not out of the question.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
