I think your judgement is clouded by rage... His possessions weren't great.... But at least he got the ball... Nathan Jones only got half the amount, thats not good enough for our so called best mid....

Watts just doesn't have a natural appetite for the contest. Simple.

He was recruited as a very young athlete; more basketballer than footy player.

Unlike Tippett, Brogan, Grundy, Pendleberry and other basketballers, he is not a natural footy player. He has the skills and awareness, but not the competitive nature.

Lovely young bloke.....but trade him. Will never be a dependable contested player.

AND he needs a new manager; he's getting very poor advice.

Those half efforts and the consistent running away from the contests are an embarassmentt.

They represent all that is bad about the club.

Jack Watts plays football on Jack Watts' terms. "I will attack the footy if there is a good chance I will win it, otherwise I will peel off sideways or backwards. That way I don't lose the contest....." that sums up Watts' footy philosophy.

It is a crap way to play football and will get (and has got) the club nowhere if it continues to tolerate it.

I wonder why Jack Watts wasn't tagged?

The fact is, we just can't afford to keep Watts. The situation we are in now, we can't afford to be carrying players with the attitude of him anymore. We need as many guys as we can get who want to work hard, run, tackle and get the ball or die trying.

why would you bother.,. he practically kicks it to you

so you think he did enough today?

There's only two players that can hold the heads up today and Jones isnt one of them.....

I've stuck up for him his whole career, now I don't care enough for it to be effected by rage. Now it's apathy. He has no heart.

i think its these attacks on individuals that got us in this situation.... We don't need heroes... We don't need villains.... We don't need non-supporters....

I agree that Watts has no heart and wont be with us next year.... But he is not alone...

What we need are players that are willing to have a crack for the jumper; he'll never be one of these and he's not the only one.

That kid is a gutless disgrace to our jumper and club, I watched him closely today and he constantly let Dunnand T Mc do the hard yards, I hate his body language I hate his non aggression at the ball and his opponent and I hate the way he plays as a loose defender and still won't bleed for his teammates, the guys worth nothing at the trade table and he is everything that Glen Bartlett talked about at the presidents lunch today, Kudos to Davey give the guy 1 more season on a limited wage because he deserves it, Christ that pea heart Watts must be barely able to look a kid like Viney in the eye after a game and I personally think one of the reasons JW hasn't been dropped this year is because they Didnt want him Infecting Hogan, that pea heart will be lucky to get a game at another club.

Comparing Watts to Jones is beyond laughable!!

If Watts tried half as hard as Jonesy he would be a superstar.

So you have been in furious agreement with me.

Watts represents a half hearted football team and is part of a list of which half is AFL standard.

The team is this way because of half baked recruiting and half arsed development.

We reward mediocrity with a place in our mediocre football team in which a mediocre effort will result in you being picked next week.

Yeah I am furious at Watts and at the club for all it has done to him and with him, he represents all of the above.

Unless Watts decides to do everything he can to win us games we should trade him for someone with hunger to win and turn our club around. He is capable of applying aggression and intensity to win the ball as shown in a few games this season.

Posted

Depends watt you can get for him. I would not be giving him away!! His positional flexibility would be very good for the better performed teams

Are you for real, he wouldn't get a game in a top 8 club, he's got no [censored] heart.

From my view today.

He is on his way, he didn't want to be there at all.

The other players could see it as well, they didn't even want to kick it to him.

ive been on Cols case a long whiles but he got into the spirit of things and loved it when he remonstrated with jack.. Kinda pot and kettle but it needed to be shown. Love to know if any follow up after the game, if any REAL Demons might have had a quiet word !!

So go on.... re cast your votes if ya like... Anyone done this ?? .lol

He has to go. Try and get the best trade for him but I think other clubs will offer next to nothing.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
