Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Were they his exact words?

yep like mjt said. i can't find any link to it on 7's site which is annoying though

I'm small and petty but yyyeeeesssss

Ha ha spot on cards I'm with ya.

I never really gave a stuff about opposition supporters before, but after witnessing the way that trailer trash conducted themselves last week I hope their dragged to hell and back.

Please.

Please.

Be true.

I've copped it the last two days at work from a Essendon supporter, all I said was "the dish ain't cold yet"

Seems like it may have been placed in the fridge!

It is disgusting the way Demonlanders are wishing ill on Essendon and its players. They are just ordinary blokes playing the game they love and making a quid. You can’t blame them for medical and sports science mismanagement which has compromised the integrity of the entire club. What a travesty if a fine young man was divested of his “Brownlow” just because of drug issues.

Don't worry just joking. I hate Essendrug more than any other club. I wish them all the worst. IF THERE IS A GOD, he will let this drug scandal destroy them totally. The image of Jab handing back the Downlow is almost too sweet to contemplate. There supporters are the worst pigs god ever put breath into ( note. two of my brothers are Essendrug members). Why can't a Jumbo crash land on that training facility?

Supposedly, every drug they took was consulted with ASADA and WADA... If this were true, then why are they being investigated.

Why is the AFL drafting a contingency plan when/if found guilty of injecting.

They are without a doubt in trouble, I just home the findings come in soon. I would hate the guilty verdict to com in at seasons end.

Oh thank god, my fingers were trembling about to unleash on you

I NEED them to suffer

It was reported a while ago in the press that the place where they were injecting was under surveillance at the time. Does anyone think that the authorities didn't know what was going on?

What happens to Mitchell/Cotchin tickets?

See the bombers shoot up, up and lose the premiership race.

As a young boy growing up in a small country town barracking for the Demons in the wonderfull era of the 80's, I was surrounded by other kids that loved Essendung and their plethora of honkey players. When the Dees (and they did a lot!) lose they would let me know that my team were crap even when we didn't play against the clowns ..... This is still the case now, it may seem!!!!!!!! BUT I am awaiting the chance so that when they ARE found out to be substance abusers... The shreaking of my laughter will rupture their ear drums. Oh the joy.... I will wait...

Anyone at Essendon who over ruled their long time Doc when he raised concerns about the injectionfest is up for a lengthy ban. I wonder who that might have been.

Takes melb off page 1 me thinks

Explosive allegations, dr reid being shut out medical calls , hird taking stuff that was banned? , players taking not banned stuff but not approved stuff and may be introuble under the catch all clause. Ziggys report will be eagerly awaited to see about essendons internal prractices or lack .

im trying to clear something up in my head so bear with me for a second.

the catch all clause.

basically every drug starts as illegal. a new drug is classed as illegal.

at a point in time either ASADA/WADA verifies the drug as acceptable or another body (ie a medical body) approves the use of the drug as medicine (for example, the anti inflammatory i sometimes have to take for asthma, prednisolone would be acceptable for someone who has asthma under ASADA but not for someone who doesnt).

this is where the catch all clause comes in - they cant possibly allow the newest drug that no one has heard of to be legal when its NOT CLASSIFIED SAFE FOR HUMANS YET - so therefore it by default has to be illegal.

ooops essendon, ooops.

Is anyone else going blue from holding their breath? I'm still worried we have some blokes who did the same crap. However does anyone remember when Hird came back after a year off and looked like the Incredible Hulk?

Anyway at least we get the 4pts back or are they just not awarded?

These blokes on SEN are making me feel sick. They are defending Essendon, and being so gentle on them, it is disgusting. If this was Melbourne, the drilling that Melbourne would be receiving in unfathomable.

Why does the media HATE Melbourne so much? I do not get it, what have Melbourne done that has hurt the media that much?

You have to feel for the players. They were duped and will probably have to pay the consequences and because of the tough requirements of ASADA, it could mean their livelihoods.

If Essendon is sanctioned by the AFL over this, I want no premiership points for last week's disgraceful effort. Even if the Bomber players had administered substances that weren't legal last year, we've done nothing to earn any points. The very thought is repugnant.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
