How long is the injury expected to keep him out of the game ?? Can we get an accurate Medical assessment ?? Is he certain to be available for a full pre season ? If the answer to the latter question is yes, then .. Persevere.. IF no we cannot afford to continue with a contract which may have no real substance.. We must face the facts and not be paying out such big money in hope ... remuneration/contracts should be re negotiated in circumstances such as these.. The question would then follow (if he is out indefinitely) Are you prepared to sit down with the club and talk contract re- negotiation. ? If the answer is no.. then who then is being selfish... ? The Club or the player ??

You left out one question: Which Free Agents and players interested in being traded will come to a club which doesn't honour contracts when players get injured?

Like I said a long time ago. We may end up with a forward line full of Easter Island statues. Good midfields can be developed without exceptional talent though exceptional talent helps. Structure is of paramount importance. Anyone know where we can find a great midfield coach? A coiffered haired senior coach who looks good on TV can only do so much.

That's basically what the club had been saying but everyone preferred to think that he was done and the mfc were hiding the fact that he is slowly dying (is his number cursed?)

Let's just hope we can improve our midfield between now and then.

This also has to be seen as a positive for the development of our other forwards. They are all getting more game time and more exposure to pressure without him on the field. In particular Fitzpatrick who is going to play the rest of the season barring health problems and will continue to improve with the game-time.

And Fitzy is coming on in leaps and bounds with the opportunity. Which begs the question what will happen to Fitzy if and when Clark comes back next year. I can't see the point of having two 200cm forward/ruckmen in the same forward line. We need a short speedy forward pocket not another 200cm player. Going to be a tough call in the next two years or so.

Certainly hope Dawes produces something better than last weekend or maybe he'll be the one not to get a game once Hogan is there. There's a lot of players to fit into that forward line if Clark comes good and some are going to have to miss out. Not a bad problem to have for once.

The big men are still going to be prone to injuries going on past history. i am one for maintaining depth and, should the problem arise that we have a surplus of big men, then on any one day, i am sure that Casey can help us out by giving them a game.

I think you are right. "Begging the question" meant "beggars the question", i.e. makes the question a beggar and thereby making it a worthless question to pursue.

I wonder if 'beggars' above should begin with an uppercase 'B'. A comma after i.e.? ..................
