Grgic was better than Watts.

[censored] Denham just said on radio that Watts will definately be at Carlton next year.

And wouldn't T Mac or Garlo Or Danny Boy love to remind him of his error  if such was the case.

I must admit Ive gone from radical supporter to fence sitter to quite frankly disenfranchised from this kid.

Stay you stay , go you go. But Stay, pull your socks up lad

If you were into conspiracies and such you might by extension take this as a NO from Roos.

or maybe he just likes his sugar Daddy Mickey more ? lol

Until anyone signs something it all up for grabs I suppose.

So little Jackie joins the likes of Green, Davey, Moloney, Sylvia and who can forget Bruce in thinking they are Mr F"n Marvellous and play funny buggers.

Jackie would look quite resplendent in a Northern Bullants guernsey I feel.

A pick in the 50s which we spent on Brad Miller.

It was a bit more complex than that from memory. Farmer went to Freo and we got pick 17 for him. We traded that and Grgic to Geelong for Bizzell and the pick we subsequently used on Miller.

Watts might garner the Scums 2nd rnd pick, if we were lucky

I'd rather make him go into the draft and see him end up at GWS than accept a second round pick, the pies made us give up 20 for dawes, surely Watts is a much better prospect than him, maybe we include steak knives and get their first round pick?

although i don't believe for a second this is a done deal, last week PJ said he would be surprised if Watts wasn't a demon next year, both parties obviously believe they're a chance.

Watts wont go.

And if he walks, then he goes through the PSD.

And he aint going to NSW.

if hes no use to us you maximize a return with best trading.

Anything else is juvenile nose lancing.

Not impossible to get their first rounder I think, we might have to sweeten a little though.

Watts and our third rounder for their first?

Might be pushing it, not sure Tapscott has much, if any value to be honest.

I wouldn't mind holding on to Tapscott to see what he could do under another coach. Not the case with Watts though.

They have plenty of running types, if we took boyd at pick 1 maybe we could trade Watts and Fitz to them and get their first round pick and a player in return?

I'd only trade one of Watts or Fitzy tbh. If we traded both that would leave us with Dawes, Hogan, an iffy Clark and possibly Boyd, which might not be enough.

Watts for Yarran?

Not sure he's the type of player we're really after mate, their first round pick would get us Sheed or Crouch which would be a huge step in the right direction for us.

If this eventuates, and it happens that we are in the position to pick Watts up in the draft, is this allowed? Are there rules against picking up a player who wont re-sign?

I think we can take anyone who nominates for the draft, we wouldn't waste a pick on someone who doesn't want to play for us though.

Dees need to play hardball on this. Its about time we set a standard on this type of things that players cant just walk. If he goes for next to nothing whats going to stop others who start getting ideas.

Who's to say we don't sign Roos and Watts decides he wants to hang around anyway?

What are you suggesting we do? Make him an offer he can't refuse?

The idea of trading/packaging Watts and landing pick 9 would be fantastic, imo. The chance to off load this prima donna for a mid like Dunstan, Crouch, Dumont, etc would be brilliant.

I think many are quite wishful thinking we will budge #9 away from the Scum

They wont pay overs

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
